JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 802)

DUNCAN MacRAE SAID:

[When posting messages to jfkassassinationforum.com]...Do not add links to forums where only the CT side or only the LN side of the JFK Assassination argument is allowed to be discussed.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

The above rule would therefore apply to the following four "forums" only (at least these are the only 4 current online "forums" I have encountered that have totally shut off the "LN" voice entirely; and there are zero "LN Only" forums, as far as I am aware)....

1.) Deep Politics Forum

2.) Greg Parker's "Re-Open Kennedy Case" forum

3.) Wim Dankbaar's "JFK Murder Solved" forum

4.) Greg Burnham's new forum

I've never seen a single "LNer" post anything at any of the forums listed above.

Am I missing any others? I don't think I am. And I visit all JFK forums on a daily basis.

EDIT -- Addendum....

Another "forum" that probably has never accepted an "LN" member is Len Osanic's Black Op Radio forum. (Although I haven't been to that forum in a long time. It was infected with a virus a while back, and I've been afraid to go there ever since.)

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

I have posted dissenting opinions on the Deep Politics Forum. If this cite [sic] were for either CT or LN opinions only, then my posts would have vanished. However, these dissenting opinions are still on the board.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

So?

Sure, differing opinions among the "CTer" ranks is permitted. But Dawn Meredith is on record as saying she would never permit an "LNer" to register at DPF. She said that very thing as recently as February 20, 2014:

"We don't allow LN ers. So that omits that waste of time."
-- Dawn Meredith; Founding Member of Deep Politics Forum; 2/20/14

Ergo, my previous comment is still 100% true:

"I've never seen a single "LNer" post anything at any of the forums listed above."

And the last time I checked, Herbert Blenner was most certainly not an "LNer".

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

You are color blind.

I am a Coverup Theorist who acknowledges the absence of credible evidence of conspiracy.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

So you think Oswald acted alone, do you Herb?

"Like it or not, the medical evidence documents and independently discusses two wounds of the back." -- Herbert Blenner

Do you think Oswald caused BOTH of the JFK back wounds you talk about in the above quote, Herbert? (Including the one non-existent back wound you invented in your own mind.)

Anyway, no matter, a "Cover-up Theorist" is also a "Conspiracy Theorist". Just a different name being placed on it. And a "cover-up theorist" would certainly still be welcomed with open arms by the fantasists running the DPF.

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

I did not invent a back wound. The medical panels described a 7 mm by 10 mm wound with its longer axis nearly perpendicular to the long axis of the body. However, Commander Humes and his autopsy report discussed a 7 mm by 4 mm back wound with its longer axis approximately parallel to the same long axis of the body.

The artists, Rydberg and Dox, illustrated the conflicting directions of the longer axes of these wounds.

Fox-5 shows two distinct objects with relative dimensions and orientations of their longer axes that match the conflicting descriptions of the back wounds.

See the following link for details.

http://hdblenner.com/coldfusion.htm

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

You DID invent a second back wound, Herb. And you know it. There is not ONE piece of documentation in the official record that even SUGGESTS the existence on John Kennedy's body of a SECOND bullet hole in his back. YOU, yourself, have interpreted the measurements and testimony in a way that YOU want to interpret those things.

But the official record is crystal clear---from the autopsy report, to Clark's Panel, to the Warren Commission, to the Rockefeller Commission, to the HSCA---and that is: JFK had ONE wound in his upper back. Not two.

You're not only a "Cover-up Theorist", Herbert, you're a "Wound Revisionist Theorist" as well.

And since Herbert "acknowledges the absence of credible evidence of conspiracy", it makes me wonder WHY there was any need whatsoever for a bunch of people to start "covering up" a lot of things relating to JFK's murder?

If there's no "credible evidence of conspiracy" to begin with, why the "cover-up", Herb?

REPLAY:

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I've never seen a single "LNer" post anything at any of the forums listed above.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Maybe they have, but you don't know their aliases.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Oh sure, Tony. And nobody at the DPF forum or the other "CT" forums would possibly be able to figure out that the person using the "alias" was REALLY an "LNer" because of the alias, right?

IOW, the person's COMMENTS about Oswald doing it alone wouldn't be any kind of a hint to Dawn Meredith and the other fantasists at the all-CT forums merely because the poster was using a fake name.

You're too funny, Tony.

(Does Tony ever sort things out in his mind before posting? I often wonder---like now.)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

I know of one guy named David Von Pein who only allows pro-WC articles on his Web site/blog.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Gee, I wonder why?

Could it be because David Von Pein is an "LNer" and he is the only author permitted to post at his sites/blogs? (Which is precisely the way DVP wants it and always will.)

Can you imagine the misery I'd have if I permitted "CT" authors to have the ability to arbitrarily post their junk on MY sites? Yikes! Why would ANY blog owner ever do that? I sure won't.

In fact, I'm not sure I know of any blog owner who actually allows other people (other than the blog owner/creator) to post new articles on his/her blog. If you know of any blog owner who allows such multi-person posting, please provide the link. I'd like to see that.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Some of the people here are too lame to figure it out.

I have my own Web site. I have put articles on it from WC defenders. It's called OPEN RESEARCH. Something you've never heard of. All you know is bias. Jeff Morley allows WC defenders to say stupid things on his blog.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Tony,

I've linked to many pro-conspiracy articles on my sites. And I've copied and pasted many additional CT arguments from Internet forums into my webpages (my "Assorted JFK Arguments" series is up to almost 1200 parts now).

So I've given the "Conspiracy" side a voice. Plenty of voice, in fact. So maybe you should investigate things a little better before shooting off your mouth with silly comments like this one --

"It's called OPEN RESEARCH. Something you've never heard of. All you know is bias." -- W. Anthony Marsh

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

And McAdams has cited some of my articles, but only when they are not blatantly conspiratorial. And he loves to quote anything I say which criticizes another conspiracy believer. The old Divide and Conquer strategy.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I'm now kinda sad that Marsh has been quoted in the book that Mel Ayton and I have coming out very soon. (Believe me, that was Mel's idea to quote Mr. Marsh in the book, not mine.)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Say it ain't so, Joe. I hope he quotes me calling you a liar. I doubt he'll quote my article proving that the Zapruder film is authentic. Wouldn't want the general public to know about that, eh?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I can't even remember right now what the topic was, Tony. But I do remembering cringing a little bit when I saw that Mel had quoted Anthony Marsh for our lone-assassin book. I didn't much like that idea at all (and I still don't). But, I'm just the second author. Mel is the main author, so I don't have complete control of the book's contents. But fortunately I was able to convince Mel to leave out a couple of other things that also made me cringe even worse than your quote.

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 797)

MICHAEL WELCH SAID:

Would you be willing to address autopsy photograph F-8...?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

The F-8 photo is, in my opinion, essentially worthless and useless. At least from the standpoint of trying to PROVE anything definitive regarding the location of the wounds in JFK's head. Others disagree, of course. But, in my view, F-8 is just a big mess. I can't make head nor tail out of it. Maybe other people can, but I can't.

MICHAEL WELCH SAID:

The F-8 autopsy photograph does need to be figured out.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

The F-8 photo has created perpetual debate and disagreement over what it depicts---and WHERE on Kennedy's head the wounds are. Some people say THIS; while another group says THAT. (Big surprise, huh? A disagreement over some JFK evidence. Never thought that would happen.) :)

In a way, that F-8 photo is TOO GOOD. It evidently is a picture taken DEEP inside Kennedy's cranium, which doesn't leave very much stuff visible OUTSIDE the cranium for proper orientation. And therein lies the big problem with it, IMO. What's UP and what's DOWN? It's hard to tell.

MICHAEL WELCH SAID:

Thank you again David! You are making a lot of balanced sense, like usual!

Keep up all of your wonderful work, my fantastic super talented brilliant dear friend!

With Much Gratitude and Admiration,
Michael

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Thank you, Michael.

But even though I don't rely on the F-8 autopsy photo to arrive at any of my conclusions about JFK's head wounds, that doesn't mean I am forced to toss my hands in the air and say "It can't be solved". Because there are plenty of other things we can look at to reach a reasonable conclusion as to where President Kennedy's head wounds were located. There are the other autopsy photos (not counting F-8) and the X-rays. Plus the autopsy report itself, which almost all conspiracy theorists seem to want to just completely ignore (or mangle the verbiage within that report).

The autopsy report couldn't be much clearer on two key aspects of the President's wounds---

1.) JFK was shot TWICE and only TWICE.

2.) And JFK was shot only from BEHIND. (With no evidence of any shots from the FRONT striking the President's body anywhere.)

"It is our opinion that the deceased died as a result of two perforating gunshot wounds. .... The projectiles were fired from a point behind and somewhat above the level of the deceased." -- From Page 6 of JFK's Autopsy Report [CE387; WR Page 543]

The above words were endorsed by ALL THREE of the autopsy surgeons. I mean, how much more PROOF do CTers need? That paragraph above when combined with the autopsy pictures and X-rays are just about as ironclad and rock-solid as you can get.

The only way those things wouldn't be "ironclad" would be if all three autopsy doctors were total boobs and/or liars....AND the autopsy photos and X-rays are fakes too. And the HSCA put that notion to rest in 1978 (see 7 HSCA 41 for the verification regarding the photos that almost all CTers also completely ignore or deem invalid for some reason).

Another really nice way to show that the autopsy pictures that we currently have to study on the Internet (the "Fox set") have not been altered or faked in some manner is to compare the photos in stereo pairs (as the HSCA Photographic Panel did).

And John Mytton has created at least two amazing motion GIF clips of JFK's autopsy photos which help to prove that those pictures are not fraudulent. And that's because the different pictures perfectly match each other in STEREO fashion, such as John Mytton's GIF below (and he's got another one which shows two views of the top of JFK's head too, merging together in GIF form perfectly).....

Maybe it's time for conspiracy theorists to stop the "Everything's Been Faked" talk and accept the truth that GIF images like the one shown above amply prove --- President Kennedy was shot once in the head--from behind.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Stop being silly. Everyone has been poisoned by Lifton's theory. It's very easy to see the orientation of Fox 8 once you realize that they had to pull the scalp down over the eyes to remove the brain. I have marked major landmarks for you [in the captions of Tony's "fantasy" version of the F8 photo, seen HERE]. You can also read Dr. Lawrence Angel's report.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Some of Tony Marsh's captions all over the F-8 picture are ludicrous, especially Anthony's utter fantasy of pretending a portion of the picture positively shows an "entrance wound" in the "forehead" of JFK.

That's one of Tony's favorite fantasies, of course, as he puts make-believe "entry" holes in the President's head that NONE of the autopsy doctors saw or mentioned in the autopsy report.

But, as we can easily see, that F-8 close-up picture is one great-big mess. Not good for anything, IMO.

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

Neither the “autopsy doctors” nor their report mentioned the 7 mm by 10 mm back wound discussed by the medical panels.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Herbert,

As you well know, the "7x10" wound is the exact same bullet hole that the autopsy physicians said was 7x4 millimeters in size. The different panels merely measured it a little differently. The Clark Panel said (with my emphasis):

"The wound with its marginal abrasion measures approximately 7 mm. in width by 10 mm. in length."

But we KNOW that the Clark Panel is talking about the exact same wound that is said to be 7x4 millimeters in the autopsy report, because both the Clark Panel report and the autopsists said that wound was "14 cm. below the mastoid".

So where can you go with the "7 x 10 mm." argument, Herbert? Are you suggesting there was a SECOND bullet hole in Kennedy's back, which also just happened to be located 14 cm. below the mastoid where the 7x4 mm. wound was situated?

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

The back wound illustrated by Dox with its longer axis nearly perpendicular to the spinal column is not the wound twice described by Humes with its longer axis almost parallel to the same spinal column.

Fox-5 confirms the existence of two objects in separate places on the back with relative dimensions and orientations that match these conflicting descriptions of the back wound.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Total BS, Herb.

JFK had one bullet hole in his upper back and all sensible people know it.

Care to join us in the "sensible" section of the stands?

And I just love Herbert's "Two Back Wounds" theory from another POV, too....because such a theory probably means that Herb now has THREE vanishing, disappearing bullets to account for that hit JFK's upper body but none of them ever exited. Is that right, Herbert?

Or is it your contention that one of the two back wounds was a thru-&-thru wound that exited the throat?

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

Like it or not, the medical evidence documents and independently discusses two wounds of the back.

http://hdblenner.com/coldfusion.htm

I suggest that you grow up and confront this fact.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

You've got to be joking, Herbert.

Where is the SECOND bullet hole in Kennedy's shirt?

And where is the SECOND bullet hole in Kennedy's jacket?

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

Prove that the medical and the clothing evidence are a true pair. Then and only then could you evoke one category of evidence to argue a point pertaining to the other category. This is logic 101.

Meanwhile, I suggest that you address the conflicts in the presented medical evidence. Perhaps you should start with Fox-5 that shows objects matching the differing descriptions of the back wounds.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Herbert,

You're merely playing the silly parlor game that many conspiracy theorists/hobbyists love to play. You seem to think a SECOND bullet hole in John F. Kennedy's back has actually been "documented" and "discussed" in the available assassination literature.

That's an incredible claim, and it's a claim that you surely must KNOW is one that only exists in your own fertile imagination. Because the fact is this (and always has been):

ONE bullet struck JFK in the upper back, striking the President 14 centimeters below the right mastoid process and 14 cm. from the right shoulder joint. That is the ONE and only entry wound in President Kennedy's back documented by ANYONE who was officially connected with ANY investigation into JFK's murder.

You, Herb, are doing exactly what Anthony Marsh is doing--only you're doing it with a make-believe bullet hole in the back of JFK, while Marsh has invented a bullet hole that was never there in the head of the late President.

People like Herbert Blenner and Anthony Marsh and David Lifton are conspiracy theorists of the worst kind. They treat the documented and authenticated evidence as if it were something to be molded and crafted like a lump of clay on a potter's wheel.

Such unsupportable reshaping of the evidence by conspiracists, in conjunction with their complete disregard for the true and verified facts and evidence in the JFK case (such as the authenticated autopsy photographs and X-rays, which verify for all eternity that President Kennedy was struck from behind by exactly two bullets), is deplorable activity that should be denounced and condemned by all reasonable and rational people everywhere.

To toss Herbert's own words back at him -- I suggest that you, Herbert, grow up and confront this fact.

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 511)

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

>>> "The bullet hole in Kennedy's back had to be round with not more than a half millimeter deviation from a perfect circle." <<<

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

LOL.

And just exactly HOW on this green Earth of ours does Herbert "Mr. Forensics" Blenner think he's going to go about the task of proving that last silly statement of his?

How does Mr. Blenner KNOW for a fact that the hole in Kennedy's back "HAD TO BE ROUND"?

And Blenner's "with not more than a half millimeter deviation from a perfect circle" comment just might make the "CT-Kook Hall-Of-Fame" of speculative, idiotic statements.

Hint for Blenner -- The bullet entered at a 17.72-degree downward angle from Oswald's 6th-Floor TSBD window. I.E., it didn't enter JFK's back straight on.

And yet Blenner thinks the bullet hole "had to be round".

Talk about egotistical bluster. Herb's got it down cold.

>>> "Even a naive child could tell you that the medically documented 4 mm by 7 mm oval hole was not even close to a circle.

Just two words are needed in response here:

So what?

>>> "Similar considerations apply to the entry wounds on Connally's back and thigh." <<<

The bullet was tumbling into Connally's back, of course, after exiting Kennedy's throat. Given these parameters, if you think that you can apply geometric precision and your own silly brand of "The Bullet Holes In The Victims MUST Have Been A Certain Size Because I Say So" logic to both Kennedy's and Connally's wounds, then you're farther off the deep end of the CT scale than I thought.

>>> "I would continue but I have depleted my supply of wasteable time." <<<

Yeah. Me too. Definitely.

Your analytical mumbo-jumbo is a total waste of anybody's time, mainly because your mumbo-jumbo doesn't prove anything, and it most certainly does not eliminate Lee Harvey Oswald's 6.5-mm. Carcano bullet as having been the bullet that struck both JFK and JBC, and your mumbo-jumbo (aka: bullshit) most certainly does not eliminate Lee Harvey Oswald as the gunman who fired Bullet CE399 into the bodies of both John Kennedy and John Connally.

In short -- Herbert Blenner's nonsensical BS doesn't go anywhere (as per the norm for conspiracy theorists). Just ask James DiEugenio. He's one of the kings of propping up meaningless chaff and pretending it actually means something substantial.

It looks like Herb's in the same league as chaff-happy DiEugenio. And that's not a league that anyone should have a desire to be in.

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 559)

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

Obviously the 1.75 axial ratio of the 7 mm by 4 mm bullet hole reported by Commander Humes and the 1.43 axial ratio of the 10 mm by 7 mm abrasion shown on the autopsy are in irreconcilable conflict with the minuscule ratio of 1.06 as required by the locations of the two wounds.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

What a bunch of highbrow, meaningless bullshit.

Herbert's supply of meaningless crap like the above never runs out, does it?

I wonder if conspiracists like Herbert Blenner ever wonder why it is that TWO major U.S. Governmental investigative bodies (the Warren Commission and the House Select Committee), fifteen years apart, BOTH came to the conclusion that a single bullet (CE399 to be precise) DID, indeed, slice through both JFK and John Connally on November 22, 1963, in Dealey Plaza?

I guess it's just too bad that Herb Blenner wasn't called upon to provide the WC and/or the HSCA with his expert analysis regarding the "1.75 axial ratio" and "1.43 axial ratio" and the "irreconcilable conflict" that exists with respect to the Single-Bullet Theory.

Somehow or another it would seem that BOTH of the official U.S. Government's investigative organizations that were assembled specifically to try and find out the truth about what happened in Dallas on 11/22/63 totally blew it when they both signed-off on a single-bullet conclusion that nearly every conspiracy believer in the world seems to think is nothing but a crock of smelly shit!

It's just too damn bad that brilliant scientists like Herb Blenner weren't on the WC or HSCA panels in order to make those guys see the light regarding those ever-important "axial ratios", huh?

But, maybe Herbert will be lucky and will be asked to solve the whole "SBT" mystery when the Government re-examines the case in the future due to the outraged fist-pounding efforts of all the many armchair anti-SBT crackpots in this world who think they know MUCH more than the (apparently) stupid SBT-backing retards who served on those previous two U.S. Government commissions.

But back here in the real world of sanity and common sense, Dale Myers said it quite nicely on May 26th, 2009, when he said this:

"Few understand that the single bullet theory was and is the obvious solution to a perplexing question: What happened to the bullet that entered Kennedy’s upper-right back and exited his throat? Instead of dealing with the firearms, medical, and trajectory evidence surrounding this question, detractors and spin doctors have been conjuring up ridiculous zigzagging bullet diagrams that supposedly reveal the stupidity of the Warren Commission’s theory for the better part of a half century. Believe me it’s taken its toll. Today, the vast majority of otherwise clear thinking Americans have chucked common sense and embraced a zigzagging bullet theory that is far more magical than the straight-line bullet trajectory proposed by the Commission. It’s a weird world, isn’t it?" -- Dale K. Myers; 05/26/09

And Vincent T. Bugliosi weighs in with a hefty dose of good old-fashioned common sense regarding the Single-Bullet Theory too (which is common sense that is always ignored by the conspiracy-seeking crowd, naturally):

"The single-bullet theory [is] so obvious that a child could author it. .... We can have all the confidence in the world, by an examination of the physical evidence and the utilization of common sense, that [a single bullet wounded both Kennedy and Connally]. When you can establish the single-bullet theory by reference to evidence other than the [Zapruder] film, you necessarily know that the film itself cannot, by definition, show something else. .... Since we KNOW Kennedy and Connally were not hit by separate bullets, we know, before we even look at the film, that it CANNOT show otherwise. .... The result of [Dale] Myers's efforts is a remarkably compelling view of the assassination of President Kennedy that is consistent with the Warren Commission's and HSCA's conclusion that Kennedy and Connally were, indeed, struck by the same bullet. .... With respect to the second shot fired in Dealey Plaza, the "single-bullet THEORY" is an obvious misnomer. Though in its incipient stages it was but a theory, the indisputable evidence is that it is now a proven FACT, a wholly supported conclusion. .... And no sensible mind that is also informed can plausibly make the case that the bullet that struck President Kennedy in the upper right part of his back did not go on to hit Governor Connally." -- Vincent Bugliosi; Via the pages of "Reclaiming History: The Assassination Of President John F. Kennedy" (c.2007)

And David Von Pein (yes, that's me) said it pretty well too (if you don't mind my saying so) when he said this in May 2005:

"Lacking a shot that transits JFK, we're left to accept a three-shot scenario to explain these wounds to the two victims -- fired by THREE separate gunmen as well (two from the rear and one from the front). Given the very tight timeline (even per CTers, who have JFK hit in the throat with Shot #1 at Z195 to Z200 approx.), I'd like to know how there could have possibly been LESS than three gunmen utilized to inflict all these wounds in the allowable timeframe?

[And] all three of these (supposedly) entry wounds on JFK and JBC line themselves up in such a fashion on the bodies to give the APPEARANCE that they could have ALL been "in line" so as to have been caused by just a single missile passing through both men simultaneously.

I have yet to hear any reasonable and believable CT explanation that logically rationalizes and defends this amazing "wound placement" occurrence on TWO different victims.

[...]

If the only way to explain away the SBT to fit a conspiracy scenario is to come up with a plot that includes three different shooters, firing three bullets into two different victims, from three different locations, and incredibly have all three of these missiles pepper the victims in just such a pattern so that it looks like it COULD (even remotely so) be reconciled into a "SBT", and then (on top of this miracle bit of shooting by three different gunmen) to get ALL THREE of these separate bullets to vanish and to never enter the official record -- then, from where I sit, plain ol' common sense is telling me that something's just a bit screwy about this "CT" plot which perfectly worked out to appease the WC and its loyal followers.

[...]

Many CTers don't think it's necessary at all to come up with any kind of logical "alternative" scenario to explain all the wounds to JFK and JBC -- let alone a full, complete version of the pre-Head Shot event which would tie up all or most of the "loose ends" with regard to this event. They just seem to KNOW that the SBT is dead wrong based on the angles being slightly off or the reactions of the two victims being far enough apart to make the SBT an impossibility.

But any CT substitute answers to reconcile all these wounds in two victims (when such answers occasionally are provided, always in the form of pure out-and-out guesses by the CT community) are far less credible and less substantive and far less believable than is the official version of the event -- the SBT.

[...]

The critics have done little to disprove the SBT. But, on the flip-side of that coin, there have been true-to-life and animated tests performed over the years that have backed up (concretely) the validity of the Single-Bullet Theory. But these tests, too, have been ridiculed as being "inaccurate", with "manufactured" angles and results, and incorrect measurements utilized. I, naturally, completely and fervently disagree."

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 727)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

It [Lee Harvey Oswald's rifle] was not a carbine. It was a short rifle.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

A "carbine" is a "rifle". Simple as that.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/carbine

car⋅bine
–noun
1. a light, gas-operated semiautomatic rifle.
2. (formerly) a short rifle used in the cavalry.

Why do CTers continually ignore the fact that a carbine IS a "rifle"?

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

A rifle with a manually operated bolt is not a carbine.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Is that why every dictionary in the world says that a "Carbine" is a "Rifle", Herb?

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

The definition that you cited asserted that a carbine is a gas-operated semiautomatic rifle. So according to your source, the statement that a carbine is a rifle is consistent with my statement that a rifle with a manually operated bolt is not a carbine.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

So, Herb, you must think that Klein's Sporting Goods (circa 1963) didn't have the slightest idea what they were doing when they placed the following words in their magazine ads (linked below). And these are words that appear TOGETHER in the VERY SAME ad:

"6.5 Italian Carbine"

and

"Turned-down bolt"

Klein's quite obviously considered a rifle with a "turned-down bolt" (i.e., "a rifle with a manually operated bolt") to also be a "carbine".

What about it, Herbert? Didn't Klein's know what they were selling? Or should they have contacted a conspiracy kook before placing the words "turned-down bolt" and "carbine" in the very same ad?

David Von Pein

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 361)

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

Would [you] mind explaining how reaming an elliptical hole changes the direction of its longer axis?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Beats me. You're apparently the "axis" authority. I really couldn't
care less about this trivial "axis" shit.

Instead, I'll rely on some good ol' CS&L [Common Sense & Logic]:

1.) A bullet went into JFK's upper back...

2.) That bullet struck nothing that could have possibly stopped its
forward progress...

3.) JFK had a bullet hole in his lower throat...

4.) JFK had no bullets or bullet fragments in his body (not counting
his head)...

Solution: The same bullet that struck him in the upper back exited his
lower throat.

And a bunch of double-talk about the "axis" of the wounds, etc., is
never going to change the above-mentioned facts, Herbert.

Now, tell me again how one bullet couldn't have gone through John
Kennedy's body. I love watching a CTer deny the obvious.

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

If you believe that Humes stuck [his] chubby little finger into a bullet hole
with a 4 mm diameter, then I have a bridge with your name on the bill of sale.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

So, you think Humes didn't stick his "chubby little finger" into the
back wound at all then? Is that what you're saying?

Or would you like to pretend that the bullet hole seen in the picture
below was really a completely different size and/or configuration from
what is exhibited in this photograph (a picture that was determined by
the HSCA to be "unaltered in any manner")?

David Von Pein

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 359)

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

The declination angle of the bullet that allegedly went through President Kennedy was twenty degrees.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

It's only approximately 20 degrees when the 3.15-degree street grade of Elm Street is added into the equation. But when we put the limousine (and, hence, President Kennedy's body too, since he was sitting, upright, in that car when it was travelling on Elm Street, which is angled at a declination of 3.15 degrees [3 degrees, 9 minutes]) back onto level ground, without any angle of declination in the road, the angle of the bullet path through JFK's upper back and throat measures approximately 17.7 degrees.

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

They subtracted the three-degree decline of Elm Street from this declination angle to compensate for the stand-ins being on level ground. So the pointer with a declination angle of seventeen degrees passed through the exit wound on the stand-in for the President and the entrance wound on the stand-in for the Governor. Your failure to correct the mistaken explanation by the WC for subtracting the three-degree angle from the declination angle of the bullet does not speak well of your qualifications to mock critics of the SBT.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Why should I (or anyone) feel the need to "correct" the Warren Commission and the Commission's surveyors with respect to the angles they used?

There is no need to do that, of course, because the angles that were measured ARE WHAT THEY ARE (with a built-in "plus or minus" of potential error, of course, since the WC's 17.72-degree measurement [17 degrees, 43 minutes] through the President's upper back and throat was actually the AVERAGE angle of two separate angles that were taken from Oswald's Sniper's Nest) -- at Zapruder Frame 210 and Z225 -- since the WC determined that JFK was struck with the first bullet that hit him somewhere between those two Z-Film frames.

And even via 1964 technology, they were 100% right. JFK and JBC were struck by Oswald's CE399 bullet at Z224, which indeed falls in the bracketed range of Z-Frames estimated by the Warren Commission.

The angle from the Sniper's Nest to JFK's inshoot wound on his upper back was measured to be 21 degrees, 34 minutes at Z210 and 20 degrees, 11 minutes at Z225.

The 3.15-degree street grade of Elm Street was then factored into the measurements (and subtracted, just as it should have been), with the average angle between Z210 and Z225 (sans the 3.15-degree declination of the Elm St. pavement) coming out to 17.72 degrees "assuming that he [JFK] was sitting in a vertical position" (WCR; Pg. 106) -- which he almost certainly was, as evidenced by Z-Frame 225:

QUOTING THE WARREN REPORT:

"A surveyor placed his sighting equipment at the precise point
of entry on the back of the President’s neck, assuming that the
President was struck at frame 210, and measured the angle to the end
of the muzzle of the rifle positioned where it was believed to have
been held by the assassin. That angle measured 21 degrees 34’. From
the same points of reference, the angle at frame 225 was measured at
20 degrees 11’, giving an average angle of 20 degrees 52’30” from
frame 210 to frame 225. Allowing for a downward street grade of 3
degrees 9’, the probable angle through the President’s body was
calculated at 17 degrees 43’30”, assuming that he was sitting in a
vertical position." -- WCR; PAGE 106

Mr. SPECTER. I now hand you a photograph which has been marked as
Commission Exhibit No. 903 and ask you if you know who the
photographer was?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. Yes; I took this photograph.

Mr. SPECTER. When was that photograph taken?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. It was taken Sunday afternoon, May 24, 1964.

Mr. SPECTER. Is there a white string which is apparent in the
background of that photograph?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. That is correct.

Mr. SPECTER. What is the angle of declination of that string?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. That string was placed along the wall by the surveyor
at an angle of 17 degrees-43'-30".

Mr. SPECTER. Did the surveyor make that placement in your presence?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. He did.

Mr. SPECTER. Were the stand-ins for President Kennedy and Governor
Connally positioned in the same relative positions as those occupied
by President Kennedy and Governor Connally depicted in the Zapruder
films?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. Yes; these positions were approximately the position
of the President and Governor Connally in the Zapruder films in the
area around frame 225 as they go behind the signboard and as they
emerge from the signboard.

Mr. SPECTER. Was the rod which is held in that photograph positioned
at an angle as closely parallel to the white string as it could be
positioned?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. Yes.

Mr. SPECTER. And through what positions did that rod pass?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. The rod passed through a position on the back of the
stand-in for the President at a point approximating that of the
entrance wound, exited along about the knot of the tie or the button
of the coat or button of the shirt, and the end of the rod was
inserted in the entrance hole on the back of Governor Connally's coat
which was being worn by the stand-in for Governor Connally.

Mr. SPECTER. And was Governor Connally's stand-in seated in the
position where the point of exit would have been below the right
nipple at the approximate point described by Governor Connally's
doctors?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. That is correct.

Senator COOPER. May I ask a couple of questions? Am I correct in
assuming that you have made these determinations about the degree of
the angle of the trajectory of the bullet at the time the President
was struck, locating the position of the President in the car on the
one hand, and the location of the rifle at the time the shots were
fired?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. The location of the wound, you mean the angle of the
wound?

Senator COOPER. Yes. .... You had to establish the position of the
President at the time the bullet struck him and the position of the
rifle to make a determination about the degree of the angle of the
direction?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. That is correct. The positions in the car, their
positions in the car, were based on the Zapruder film.

Senator COOPER. And you were able to determine what you think very
accurately the position of the President in the car by the films that
you have examined?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. Yes.

Senator COOPER. Then the factor then, which is not determinable
exactly, then is the location of the rifle, is that correct?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. That is correct.

Senator COOPER. Upon what did you determine the location of the rifle
upon what factors?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. The rifle was positioned in the sixth floor window of
the Book Building where the cartridges were found, and was determined
from information furnished by representatives of the Commission.

Senator COOPER. Did you have information about the location of certain
boxes that were seen--were found--at the window after the shooting
occurred?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. That is correct. Yes; we had photographs of the boxes
and we were advised, of the approximate position in the window and how
far down the window was, the fact that some observers noted the rifle
sticking out the window.

Senator COOPER. I want to ask you--you did have information from the
testimony of witnesses who said they saw the rifle protruding from the
window?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. We had this information furnished to us by the
Commission.

Senator COOPER. And those facts, those locations were made known to
you, and upon that evidence did you locate the rifle, in making these
calculations?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. That was the basis for the location of the rifle in
all of our calculations.

Senator COOPER. Just one other question. Assuming that there might
have been some variation in the location of the rifle, length of the
window, the breadth of the window, or that the rifle you used was held
higher than the rifle might have been...how much variation would it have
made, in your judgement, in these calculations you made?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. I don't believe that any movement of the rifle in that
specific window would alter our calculations to any appreciable degree
if you stay within that window, because our reenactment and our
repositioning of the bodies in the car based on the photographs is
subject to some variation, too, so we have variations throughout. And
the variations from the position of the rifle at that particular
window, I feel would be negligible.

Senator COOPER. At every point where you made it, hypothetically, at
least, made the determination that at a particular point the President
was struck by a bullet, at that point the car and the President could
be seen from the window?

Mr. SHANEYFELT. That is correct.

=============================

Every single thing about CE903 and the 5/24/64 re-creation that was performed by the FBI and Warren Commission in Dealey Plaza works out to "SBT perfection". And only someone who is totally blind (or someone who just doesn't WANT the Single-Bullet Theory to be true) could fail to see that obvious fact when examining the detailed record concerning this matter.

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 280)

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Herbert Blenner [in this July 2008 Internet post] is trying to place precise exactitude on things that can never be ascertained with such precision. Never have. Never will (of course). Can't be done. No way.

E.G.:

The precise to-the-inch location of JFK's head in relation to Oswald's head-shot bullet entering Kennedy's head is impossible to determine with the precision that Herb seems to think exists. Can't be done. No way. No how. It's a "best guess" scenario. Always was.

E.G.:

The exact to-the-inch locations of John Connally and President Kennedy when they were struck by CE399. Those measurements, too, are just "best guesses". Always were. Always will be.

Dale Myers has put about as much "exactitude" on these things as can possibly be done by mere mortals/humans, via Dale's "Secrets Of A Homicide" computer animation project. And via that animation, the Single-Bullet Theory is obviously not only DOABLE, but almost certainly a FACT.

And the argument about the amount of deflection with respect to the head-shot bullet is a totally irrelevant one in the long run.

Why?

Because we KNOW with 100% certainty that only ONE bullet struck JFK's head...and that one bullet entered in the BACK of the head, with associated inward bevelling. [See autopsy doctor Jim Humes talk about the bevelling of the head wound in the 1967 video presented below.]

Therefore, since there is absolutely ZERO pieces of evidence to indicate that President Kennedy was struck in the head by a SECOND bullet, the math becomes quite easy at this point.

That is to say:

Regardless of WHERE the large exit wound was located (which was in the right-front of the head, of course), and regardless of how many degrees the bullet deflected after striking Kennedy's cranium, the basic ironclad fact of "Only One Bullet Hit JFK's Head From Behind" will never change, which makes all the arguments surrounding these sub-topics moot and rather meaningless when all is said and done.

But, by all means, continue to try to pump oil from that dry-as-the-Mojave hole in the ground you've created, Herbert. Knowing conspiracy theorists, I'm sure you shall continue to pump away at the dust like mad.

RANDOM PHOTO FROM
THE KENNEDY GALLERY:

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 270)

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

>>> "[This] graphic shows the anterior-posterior X-ray of President Kennedy's head. Why does the title of the X-ray, "Figure 17 - Photograph of the anterior-posterior X-ray of the skull (autopsy X-ray No. 1), showing the occipital defect and a small [sic] missile fragment" [Figure 17 actually says "adjacent missile fragment", not "small missile fragment"] refer to an injury that you deny?" <<<

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

It doesn't refer to an injury that I deny at all. The caption accompanying that particular X-ray photo (Figure 17, which is located in the House Select Committee volumes at 7 HSCA 109) is referring to the small ENTRY wound in the "occipital" region of John Kennedy's head.* It's not referring to any kind of a large, gaping EXIT wound in the occipital region of the head.

That fact becomes quite clear when reading the text that surrounds Figure #17 in HSCA Volume 7 (on page 109 and page 110 of Volume 7).

And please note how, on page 110, the caption used for a computer-enhanced version of the LATERAL X-ray (autopsy X-ray #2) utilizes several of the EXACT SAME WORDS that are also used in the caption for Figure 17 (which is a picture of the A-P X-ray) -- i.e., "adjacent missile fragment" and "occipital defect" [plus the key words "with beveling", indicating that the HSCA is certainly NOT talking about an exit wound here; they're referring to an ENTRY wound that is "beveling" inward].

I'll readily admit that, at first blush, the A-P autopsy X-ray shown in Figure 17 seems to give the false impression that the entire right side of JFK's head was missing (from front to back). But when we go to page 111 of HSCA Volume 7, we get to see a better, more detailed view of that A-P skull X-ray (via computer enhancement).

And we can easily see that the enhanced A-P X-ray aligns itself very nicely with the lateral (enhanced) X-ray of the right side of President Kennedy's head (i.e., the BACK of JFK's head is STILL THERE in both computer-enhanced autopsy X-rays):

* Although, technically, the entry wound in the back of JFK's head was not really located in "occipital" bone. It was closer to "parietal" bone.

>>> "Why is the transmittance of the right side of this X-ray consistent with big holes in the right-front and the right-rear of the head?" <<<

See explanation above. Figure 17 is somewhat misleading. This computer-assisted version of that very same X-ray makes things much clearer.

>>> "Finally why [does] the Fox Photo F1 show intact scalp overlying the position of the large hole in the front-rear of the head?" <<<

This autopsy photo [below] shows no such thing. You're interpreting it incorrectly:

>>> "I extend my apologies for mistaking you for a member of the cowlick club." <<<

Oh, I'm definitely a member of the "cowlick club". The entry wound was most certainly located high on JFK's head, near the cowlick, just as the HSCA determined.

The term "occipital" in Figures 17 and 18 of HSCA Volume #7, however, is still referring (obviously) to the BACK-OF-THE-HEAD ENTRY WOUND NEAR THE COWLICK. That location is, indeed, technically a bit above the "occipital".

But the term "occipital" (as used in those HSCA exhibits) is positively referring to the bullet's ENTRY hole at the back of the head. That's obvious by the verbiage we find in the caption for Figure 18, which says: "occipital defect with beveling". Plus, there are the words "inward beveling" that appear just below Figure 18 on that same page of Volume 7 (page 110).

Therefore, what other head wound (with references to "beveling" and "inward beveling") could the HSCA possibly be referring to on page 110 of Volume 7 if not the ONE AND ONLY bullet wound of entrance in the back of Jack Kennedy's cranium?

Try again, Herbert. You've lost this round.

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 415)

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

Only a diehard would deny that CE 903 has caught the FBI with its big thumb on their scale.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

What a bunch of malarkey, Herbert.

CE903 completely destroys the oft-repeated conspiracy-favoring myth of:

GERALD FORD MOVED THE WOUND UP INTO THE NECK OF PRESIDENT KENNEDY TO MAKE THE SINGLE-BULLET THEORY PLAUSIBLE.

CE903 proves that CTers are off their rockers when they prop up the above nonsense about Ford's mysterious "move". Because "moving" the wound from where it's always been (JFK's upper back) to the "neck" would totally wreck the SBT's trajectory and alignment.

Also.....

Anti-SBTers should also be asking themselves a very important question too....this question:

If the SBT is completely impossible (as so many CTers firmly believe), how in the world would the WC and the FBI even be able to FUDGE the "SBT" results as seen in CE903 and have those results come anywhere close to duplicating (at least fairly closely) the positioning of the victims in the car AND the wound locations on the TWO victims?

In other words, in any kind of a shooting scenario that a CTer could hypothesize to replace the SBT, wasn't it absolutely remarkable (and super lucky) to have those two or three different gunmen hit the TWO victims with their two or three or four bullets in almost exactly the locations on the two bodies so that on May 24, 1964, the Warren Commission and the FBI could connect those various bullet holes and FUDGE A PRETTY DAMN NICE-LOOKING SINGLE-BULLET EVENT?

Why don't any of the conspiracy-loving kooks EVER ask themselves that reasonable question?

David Von Pein
January 7, 2009

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 179)

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

The verbally described alignment of the long axis of the wound as roughly parallel to the vertical column agrees with CE 386, although the position of the wound disagrees with the location of 14 cm below the mastoid.

The position of the wound verbally specified by Humes agrees with the position, 13.5 cm below the right mastoid process reported by the FPP.

However, the same page shows a drawing of the wound whose longer axis is nearly perpendicular to the vertical column.

So, Mr. DVP, what is your explanation of a wound that turned nearly ninety degrees?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

The Rydberg drawing [Commission Exhibit 386] definitely shows both entry holes (head and upper back) to be in ridiculously skewed locations, I agree. The back wound is way too high and way too far to the right, and the head wound is too low.

Similar to the Boswell Face Sheet drawing (where Boswell's "dot" on the chart is in the wrong location), it just tends to prove that many times we can't fully rely on that type of generic "dots drawn on a cartoon" drawing to tell the whole story of a particular wound location. (Except for Ida Dox's drawings, which are very good, since Dox overlaid the actual autopsy photos over the drawings for a perfect match.)

But Humes was simply wrong when he told Rydberg to draw the wounds where he told Rydberg to draw them. Simple as that. It wasn't a deliberate attempt to deceive the world, for cryin' out loud. For if it were an attempt to do that, why on Earth would Humes have ALSO talked about the exacting Boswell Face Sheet measurements regarding the back wound ("14 cm. from mastoid", etc.)?

Did Humes WANT to look like an idiot when he said "14 cm. from mastoid" and "14 cm. from right shoulder joint", which are measurements that most certainly don't match this Rydberg drawing?:

The really, REALLY stupid part of this whole Rydberg/Humes affair is the fact that the need for such drawings was so easily avoidable by merely having the doctors testify with the actual autopsy photos in front of them, instead of having to rely on second-hand stick-figure drawings that are certainly not to JOHN F. KENNEDY SCALE.

It's incredibly stupid (and always was) on the part of the Warren Commission to not have DEMANDED to see and fully examine those autopsy pictures and X-rays (and to have them viewed by witnesses, like Dr. Humes, on the witness stand during their testimony).

I've often said that the failure of the Warren Commission to view and fully examine the autopsy photos (which are, of course, the best possible visual evidence of JFK's injuries) is the biggest blunder that can be attributed to Earl Warren's Commission.

I'm still flabbergasted to this day at such idiocy that had the official investigative team which was looking into JFK's murder being left in the dark about something so important as the autopsy pictures and X-rays of the President's body. The stupidity of that decision will never be topped, IMO.

But, having ranted and raved for a little while about the stupidity of that decision regarding the autopsy photos, I also must say this as well --- The Warren Commission STILL GOT THINGS RIGHT in the long run, even without viewing the autopsy photos.

The WC got it right with respect to Lee Harvey Oswald acting alone. And the WC got it right with respect to only two bullets hitting JFK from behind, with the Single-Bullet Theory being an absolute rock-solid fact, with the WC ultimately getting the location of JFK's upper-back wound in just exactly the right place, with CE903 confirming, verifying, and proving for all time that the WC, despite the awful Rydberg drawing and despite the sometimes-confusing testimony of Dr. Humes, did indeed GET IT RIGHT with respect to the location of the bullet hole in John Kennedy's upper back, just as CE903 shows.

Anybody who argues, after taking one look at CE903 below, that it was the position of the WC that the entry wound on JFK's upper back was really in the "neck" region of the President is simply full of shit.

In CE903, Arlen Specter's pointer is positively located in a position that has the bullet wound located in the BACK, not the NECK, of the stand-in for JFK.

And anyone who, with a straight face, can actually continue to argue that the Single-Bullet Theory is a total fraud and/or is utterly impossible after taking a good look at Commission Exhibit No. 903 is simply fooling themselves. Because the SBT works perfectly (and with the entrance wound in the UPPER BACK of Kennedy, not in the NECK), and CE903 proves that fact:

Resolution. The bullet that entered the back and struck no significant bony mass continued traveling in the same direction as it entered. The anatomical direction of the long axis of either the abrasion or bullet hole coincides with the tangential component of direction of travel.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

That's a "resolution"?

LOL.

Tell me, Herb, does the above batch of impressive-sounding highbrow
mumbo-jumbo mean that John F. Kennedy was hit by one bullet, two
bullets, three bullets, or maybe four?

And if the bullet that entered the President's upper back didn't exit
his throat, where did it go? (You never did say.)

I often wonder why obviously smart people turn a blind eye to common
sense when it comes to evaluating the JFK murder case (and the
logicality of the SBT in particular).

It boggles the (common-sense) mind.

=====================================

"From the first moment that I heard that [Arlen] Specter had
come up with the single-bullet theory, it made very little sense to me
since the theory was so obvious that a child could author it.

"Since [the members of the WC staff] all knew that the bullet,
fired from Kennedy's right rear, had passed through soft tissue in
Kennedy's body on a straight line, and that Connally was seated to the
president's left front, the bullet, after emerging from Kennedy's
body, would have had to go on and hit Connally for the simple reason
it had nowhere else to go. How could it be that among many bright
lawyers earnestly focusing their minds on this issue, only Specter saw
it? ....

"When I asked [Norman Redlich on September 6, 2005] if, indeed,
Arlen Specter, was the sole author of the single-bullet theory, his
exact words were, "No, we all came to this conclusion simultaneously."
When I asked him whom he meant by "we," he said, "Arlen, myself,
Howard Willens, David Belin, and Mel Eisenberg." ....

"I don't know about you folks, but I'm inclined to take what
Redlich told me to the bank. My sense is that Redlich, who by almost
all accounts worked harder on the case than anyone else, was a team
player only interested in doing his job well. ....

"If I have done a disservice to Specter in what I have written
above, I apologize to him. But I did give him an opportunity to
respond to this issue [via a letter sent to Specter on June 24, 2005],
and he declined."

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 278)

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

>>> "Now it is your turn, Mr. Von Pein, to explain how a bullet could [enter] the President's head and change direction by fifty or sixty degrees to exit from the right-front of the head while CE-399 could not make a highly similar turn?" <<<

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

You're kidding, right? You cannot possibly be serious with this line
of silly thought.

Bullet CE399 hit NO BONES while traversing JFK's body. None at all.
Hence, no deviation of the bullet upon exiting the President's throat.
Even Cyril Wecht agrees with the "no deviation" stance with respect to
Bullet CE399. He even said so in those exact words ("no deviation") as
recently as June 14, 2007 (at the 13:15 mark of this radio program).

But Lee Harvey Oswald's Mannlicher-Carcano bullet that hit Kennedy's
head hit bone immediately. Hence, some deviation from the projectile's
initial flight path was no doubt INEVITABLE. And perhaps some
significant deviation, considering the object that was struck by that
missile (i.e., John Kennedy's skull).

Now, I have a question for all conspiracy-minded individuals:

Why does this same "CE399 Didn't Behave Like The Head-Shot Bullet"
junk keep getting resurrected....year after year after year? Why?

Is it because conspiracy theorists enjoy being embarrassed by LNers
via the logical answer the CTers receive each and every time this
moribund subject is dragged out of the closet?

A massive CIA disclosure -- the fatal head shot came from the storm drain....

LANCE PAYETTE SAID:

Fred has, of course, got the wrong storm drain. The actual storm drains in question were (1) behind the picket fence, and (2) on the roof of the Dal-Tex building. There was also a storm drain in Ruth Paine's garage, although its precise role in the JFKA has not been determined. Oswald, or rather Hidell, attempted to order a storm drain from Klein's but opted for an old Mauser with a 4X Weaver scope because the postage was $943 less.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Plus, there was a storm drain located in the back room of Johnny Brewer's shoe store, which allegedly leads straight to Elm Street in Dealey Plaza.

And we know who Brewer had lunch with on 11/21/63 --- none other than that master plotter himself, Montgomery Burns!

Just a coincidence? I think not. 😁

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Since we know without a doubt that there was no MISSING BONE OR SCALP in the "occipital" region of JFK's head, I'm wondering if Dr. Humes really meant to say "somewhat into the temporal and FRONTAL regions" when he wrote this paragraph of President Kennedy's autopsy report....

"There is a large irregular defect of the scalp and skull on the right involving chiefly the parietal bone but extending somewhat into the temporal and occipital regions. In this region there is an actual absence of scalp and bone producing a defect which measures approximately 13 cm. in greatest diameter."

If the word "occipital" is replaced with the word "frontal" in the above paragraph, it becomes a much more accurate paragraph (based on the autopsy photographs and X-rays, plus a look at the Zapruder Film as well)....

I'll also provide the following excerpts from the 1996 ARRB testimony of two of JFK's autopsy surgeons, Dr. James Humes and Dr. J. Thornton Boswell, which is testimony that most certainly indicates that these two autopsy physicians KNEW that there was no missing bone or scalp in the OCCIPITAL portion of the President's head:

QUESTION -- "Just for any scalp lacerations, were there any tears over the occipital bone?"

DR. HUMES -- "No. No."

QUESTION -- "None whatsoever?"

DR. HUMES -- "No."

QUESTION -- "There were tears, however, over the temporal--"

DR. HUMES -- "Temporal and parietal."

----------------

QUESTION -- "Can you describe generally where there was any missing bone from the posterior portion, to the best of your recollection?"

DR. HUMES -- "There basically wasn't any. It was just a hole. Not a significant missing bone."

QUESTION -- "So a puncture hole--"

DR. HUMES -- "Puncture hole."

QUESTION -- "And no bone missing--"

DR. HUMES -- "No."

QUESTION -- "Anywhere in the occipital?"

DR. HUMES -- "No, no. Unless maybe--you know, these drawings are always strange. Unless the part of this wound extended that far back. I don't think it did, really. Most of it was parietal temporal."

----------------

DR. BOSWELL -- "This is what's missing here."

QUESTION -- "So you're pointing at what I would describe as the temporal and parietal bone on the right hemisphere?"

DR. BOSWELL -- "I guess that would--actually, that looks like frontal there, doesn't it? Frontal, temporal, and some parietal. But that's where this space is here."

BEN HOLMES SAID:

Now you finally admit that Dr. Humes *DID* write "occipital".

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

When did I ever deny that?

Answer -- Never.

Why on Earth would I deny that Dr. James Humes wrote a word that I can see for myself in the autopsy report?

I suspect he SHOULD have written "FRONTAL" there, however. And the Humes/Boswell testimony I cited above provides some good evidence that I'm correct in that assumption, with Dr. Boswell even using that very word -- "FRONTAL" -- to describe one of the missing areas of JFK's head as he looks at an X-ray during his ARRB session. And guess what word he DIDN'T use in that testimony? Answer -- "Occipital". ....

DR. BOSWELL -- "That looks like frontal there, doesn't it? Frontal, temporal, and some parietal. But that's where this space is here."

BEN HOLMES SAID:

Hey Davey!!! You've admitted that the Autopsy Report states that the large wound, devoid of scalp and bone, extended "somewhat" into the occipital... You've admitted that the occipital is in the BACK of the head... When are you going to retract your lie and admit that the prosectors put the wound in the back of the head?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Earth to Ben (again)----

There is NO MISSING SCALP OR BONE in JFK's occipital.

Sorry. But that's the way it is---regardless of the flawed language that we find in the autopsy report on WCR Page 540.

GARRY PUFFER SAID:

Isn't it interesting that DVP thinks he can simply declare a part of the autopsy report "flawed language?"

It's not flawed, David. It's very clear and precise. We can't help that you don't like it, but you can't just decide it's "flawed."

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Oh really? Please point out the "absence of scalp and bone" in the occipital in any of these three items shown below. I await your logical "All three of those items are fake, Davey" retort....

JOHN CORBETT SAID:

Based on what little we have seen of the photos and x-rays, I wouldn't be willing to go so far as to say Humes miswrote what he meant to say. I only know of the one photo of the BOH. My understanding is that the scalp was pulled up for that shot, so it may well have been concealing missing bone. If the drawings that were produced are accurate, so too is Humes' description of the defect.

It would be good from a historical standpoint if the full set of photos and x-rays were made public to clear up any confusion about the nature and extent of the wounds, but I don't expect that to happen in my lifetime. We will have to rely on the original AR, as well as the findngs of the review panels which looked at the autopsy materials to tell us what happened.

BROCK T. GEORGE SAID:

The level of fracturing was massive in JFK's skull and only so much can be told looking at the few relatively poor quality pictures of the body and X-Rays that are in the public domain. I also hope that wider access to the originals will be considered by the Kennedy family as JFK's immediate family members and close associates slowly die off and as the case slips back more and more to being of historical interest only.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

But even though we Internet users have only seen some of the autopsy photos (none of which are the originals), there are many people who HAVE seen ALL of the ORIGINAL (higher-quality) photos and X-rays, such as Dr. Baden of the HSCA. And here's what Baden said....

"There was no defect or wound to the rear of Kennedy's head other than the entrance wound in the upper right part of his head." -- Dr. Michael Baden

In addition, the copies of the autopsy pictures and X-rays we DO have for Internet use are certainly good enough to answer this question:

Was there any "absence of scalp and bone" in the occipital area of JFK's head?

After looking at these images, it couldn't be more obvious that the answer to the question I just posed above is --- No.

Plus, a few years ago, John Fiorentino sent me a very high-quality black-and-white autopsy photo of the back of JFK's head. And in that picture, it's very clear that all of President Kennedy's scalp in the occipital is present and accounted for. No "occipital" scalp is missing whatsoever. I can see every individual hair on JFK's head in the occipital.

BTW, I'm not claiming there wasn't some DAMAGE done to the "OCCIPITAL" area of JFK's head. There most certainly IS occipital damage. We can easily see the fractures in the occipital bone in the X-ray. But what I'm emphasizing is that there was no MISSING (or "ABSENCE OF...") scalp or bone in the occipital area of Kennedy's head. And I think the autopsy pictures and X-rays prove that fact very clearly (even second- or third-generation photos).

BROCK T. GEORGE SAID:

I would even go so far as to say that even some *minor* missing scalp was possible that could fit Humes' description. Because even with a high quality BOH photo such as Fiorentino let DVP see, the possibility remains that a minor defect could have gone unobserved amongst JFK's thick hair.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

But let's just consider the incredible DOUBLE hunk of photographic deception (not FAKERY, mind you, just ordinary, non-sinister DECEPTION) that we would have to swallow in order for there to be ANY missing "occipital" SCALP or SKULL BONE....

We'd have to believe that the less-than-perfect (but still pretty decent) "Internet" Fox copies of the autopsy pictures and X-rays just happen to NOT show--in tandem--ANY missing occipital bone or scalp, even though (per your suggested theory) there really is a certain amount of missing occipital BONE AND SCALP.

Such a double example of photo deception (or "misinterpretation" might be a better word) would, in my opinion, be truly remarkable---if not completely impossible....or improbable beyond belief.

Plus, we can really make it a TRIPLE batch of misinterpretation if we were to add the Zapruder Film to the photographic mix, because the Z-Film certainly doesn't show any missing occipital either.

In addition --- If we accept the "somewhat into the occipital" portion of the verbiage found in the autopsy report, we'd have to almost certainly conclude that a goodly-sized chunk of the "parietal" bone that extends into the BACK of the head was ALSO missing. And that's because in order for the 13-centimeter "large irregular defect" to actually have reached ANY occipital bone and scalp, that same 13-cm. wound would have HAD to have crossed into the PARIETAL bone that extends into the back of JFK's head as well.

But we know from those same autopsy photos and X-rays that there also is not a single bit of PARIETAL bone missing in the BACK part of Kennedy's head.

So I stand by my first post in this discussion --- i.e., Paragraph #6 of Page 3 of the autopsy report (WCR, page 540) is not an entirely accurate paragraph. The word "occipital" is inaccurate in that paragraph. It should probably say "Frontal" instead of "Occipital" in that particular paragraph.

Again --- "IMHO".

DAVID VON PEIN ALSO SAID:

One more (important) thought on this "Occipital vs. Frontal" subject....

After viewing several of the photos and X-rays of President Kennedy's head, it's hard for me to believe that the autopsists would have failed to come to the conclusion that the large "absence of scalp and bone" on the right side of JFK's head extended into the FRONTAL BONE of the head. It sure looks to me like some "frontal bone" is blown out, just as much as it's clear that there is no OCCIPITAL bone or scalp missing from the President's cranium:

And yet, in the controversial paragraph on Page 3 of the autopsy report, there is no mention whatsoever of the "Frontal Bone" or "Frontal Region" of the head. Instead, we find this:

"There is a large irregular defect of the scalp and skull on the right involving chiefly the parietal bone but extending somewhat into the temporal and occipital regions. In this region there is an actual absence of scalp and bone producing a defect which measures approximately 13 cm. in greatest diameter."

And yet, when we check out some of the later testimony given by the autopsy doctors, including the ARRB testimony repeated below by Dr. Boswell, we can see that the "Frontal" region is an area of the President's head that was most definitely void of some skull:

DR. BOSWELL -- "That looks like frontal there, doesn't it? Frontal, temporal, and some parietal. But that's where this space is here."

PAT SPEER SAID:

God forbid I should coach a LN how to effectively fend off a common CT argument. But here goes....

The measurements for the head wound in the autopsy protocol were obtained after the scalp was peeled back and skull fell to the table. It's as simple as that. There was no hole on the back of the head in the back-of-the-head photos. But there was shattered skull beneath the scalp. The scalp was then peeled back, and skull fell to the table. There was now a large wound extending into the occipital area.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Pat,

Your explanation could possibly explain the "absence of BONE" verbiage that we find in Paragraph 6 of Page 3 of the autopsy report. But your explanation most certainly does not explain the "absence of SCALP" portion of that paragraph. Because even the "peeled back" scalp does NOT have anything MISSING from it in the OCCIPITAL area of JFK's scalp.

Plus, there's also still that one word which is, IMO, curiously missing from the description of the large exit wound -- "FRONTAL".

The more I look at the pictures and X-rays (and the ARRB comments made by both Dr. Boswell and Dr. Humes), the more conspicuous the absence of the word "Frontal" becomes.

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

Source: Deposition of Dr. James Joseph Humes on February 13, 1996 - Page 214....

Question -- "Was the frontal bone present on -- was the frontal bone still intact on the President?"

Answer -- "It was intact, yes. I can't even make it out here, really."

Question -- "You can't see it there, but it was present?"

Answer -- "No. It was present, yes, sir."

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

But, then too, Humes also told the ARRB that there was no missing bone in the OCCIPITAL either, except for the small "puncture hole" of entry, which, of course, is a mistake, because we can easily see that the entry hole is really much higher than the "occipital" area. The entry is in parietal bone.

[ARRB Testimony:]

[End Quotes.]

-------------------

It is frustrating indeed, because Dr. Humes was conflicted in his HSCA and ARRB testimony. I would imagine he was asking himself the following questions during both his HSCA and ARRB testimony sessions:

Should I rely on my autopsy report? Or should I rely on these autopsy photos and X-rays, which do not perfectly align with what I wrote in the autopsy report?

It must have been quite a quandary for James Humes indeed.

But we always have this statement made by Dr. Humes in 1992:

GARRY PUFFER SAID:

I am still looking for an LNer explanation as to how one can determine a piece of evidence is real or planted to frame someone. Clearly you guys have some kind of technique because you are quite sure that certain disputed items are real evidence. I have offered my criteria, but all I have from the LN side is:

1) Common sense.

and...

2) Any item of evidence can be challenged.

Neither of these answers explains anything. 1) is simply stupid and 2) totally avoids the question.

So please tell us, LNers, how does one determine that evidence is genuine?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

In my opinion, a big thing that indicates NONE of the evidence is fake is the fact that there are multiple pieces of evidence collected by MULTIPLE organizations and in MULTIPLE locations (TSBD, Parkland Hospital, the limousine, 10th & Patton, the parking lot behind the Texaco station, the Texas Theater, Ruth Paine's garage, and Bethesda Naval Hospital).

If all that is fake evidence, it was a heck of a coordinated effort.

Plus, it would appear as if the various alleged evidence-fakers got the person they were framing to cooperate with them as well, because Mr. Oswald acted like anything BUT an "innocent patsy" immediately after the assassination.

My question for conspiracy theorists would be --- Why would you think any of the Oswald-incriminating evidence is fake when Lee Harvey Oswald himself was acting so much like a guilty person on November 22, 1963?

BEN HOLMES SAID:

And *ALL* of it went through just two places... the FBI, or the Secret Service.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

The DPD doesn't count at all, eh? They only collected all of the TSBD evidence.

Most of the evidence also ended up being handled by the FBI, that's true enough. (Probably all of it, in fact.) But the Dallas Police Department did a lot of work with the evidence BEFORE the FBI ever got involved with it. Take the Oswald palmprint on the rifle, for example. And the trigger guard prints on the rifle. And the paraffin tests administered to Oswald.

And then there are the two "non-Poe" bullet shells at the Tippit murder scene (the ones that were initially found by witnesses Barbara Davis and Virginia Davis), which have the shortest chain of custody possible --- from Davis to Dhority for one of them; and from Davis to Doughty for the other....with each officer marking their respective shell. So HOW are THOSE chains NOT complete and bona fide?

The Mannlicher-Carcano rifle is another piece of evidence that has the shortest (or smallest) possible chain --- from Lieutenant J.C. Day of the Dallas Police Department ... to .... NOBODY ELSE. Day is essentially THE entire chain. (The entire chain that really matters, I mean.)

I.E., Lieutenant Day took possession of the rifle in the TSBD; he did not hand it off to anybody else before he marked it; Day etched his name into the butt of the gun [see photo below]; and Day retained possession of that rifle all throughout Day 1 until the FBI took it at 11:45 PM CST on November 22nd.

So, REGARDLESS of who handled the C2766 rifle at the FBI, the gun is still going to trace back to the FIRST PERSON who handled it---Lt. J.C. Day of the DPD. So I can't really see why CTers think the Carcano rifle has a poor chain of custody either....because it clearly does not have a poor chain, because Lieutenant Day marked the gun on November 22 before he ever turned it over to anybody else. Ergo, no matter who else handled the rifle after J.C. Day, the C2766 rifle will forever still PROVABLY be the rifle Lieutenant Day picked up off the floor of the TSBD's sixth floor on 11/22/63.

And I'm quite certain that the same kind of "one-man chain" can apply to other pieces of evidence connected to the JFK case, too.

As Vincent Bugliosi told me in a letter in 2009 when we were discussing the courtroom admissibility of Bullet CE399:

"The whole purpose behind the chain of possession requirement is to insure that the item being offered into evidence by the prosecution or defense is what they claim it to be." -- Vince Bugliosi; Letter to DVP; 8/22/09

"NICKNAME" SAID:

And what is "acting guilty?"

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

You don't think pulling a gun and trying to shoot a cop inside a movie theater constitutes "acting guilty"?

You think such activity is more in line with "acting innocent"?

"NICKNAME" SAID:

There is no testimony to support a gun was drawn and no evidence that is was.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Nonsense!

Johnny Brewer verifies it. [See video below.]

Conspiracy theorists will do and say anything to keep Oswald blameless.

"NICKNAME" SAID:

I've never considered Oswald blameless. You should read my posts once in a while.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

You just don't think LHO shot anybody, right Nick?

And what makes you disbelieve M.N. McDonald's account of the theater scuffle?....

Don't CTers realize how utterly desperate they look when they keep pulling this same "Fake Evidence / Lying Cops" trick out of their empty bag of evidence?

At some point, don't you have to eventually TRUST SOMEBODY?

"NICKNAME" SAID:

Trust has to be earned, David. I don't trust a police department that takes over two weeks to secure Brewer's affadavit, seeing as he's such an important witness to the cause. Were they at all concerned with the IBM employees in the store, or did they have all the information they needed?

Brewer also verifies an officer shouting "Kill the president, will you?" when the police were allegedly there to arrest him for Tippit...or for failing to pay for his movie ticket, whichever story you believe. Let's say it's the former, because the latter wouldn't explain why two dozen police showed up. So you have this cop killer brandishing a gun at more cops in a public place, and no one gets shot? Not even a Mexican standoff? A miracle, isn't it David? Try pointing a gun at 30 cops sometime and see what happens, especially if they think you're a cop killer already.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Okay....so you don't trust Johnny Brewer to tell the truth about Oswald pulling a gun in the Texas Theater on 11/22/63.

You don't trust the DPD.

You don't trust the FBI.

You don't trust the Warren Commission.

You don't trust the HSCA.

You don't trust the Rockefeller Commission.

You don't trust the Clark Panel.

You don't trust the Secret Service (who first collected CE399 and the two front-seat limo fragments).

You don't trust Vince Bugliosi.

And you certainly don't trust me either.

Does anybody make the "trust" cut in your world, Nick? How about your mom and dad?

PATRICK COLLINS SAID:

Bugliosi presents many of the counter arguments for the lone gunman and challenges them. [Mark] Lane does nothing of the sort. Am I going to present that here for you Nick? No way. I don't have the time.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Here's a decent start right here....

GARRY PUFFER SAID:

Please, David, Mrs. Bledsoe? Do you seriously believe the Mrs. Bledsoe story?

Oh, my.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Garry,

Mary Bledsoe is one of the VERY BEST "I Saw Oswald" witnesses there is.

Why?

Because she knew Oswald on sight from having rented him a room just a few weeks earlier.

Plus, there's virtually no way possible that the person on the bus that Bledsoe said was Oswald was really somebody other than Oswald, because there's corroborating physical evidence in the form of the bus ticket found in LHO's pocket after his arrest. And it has Cecil McWatters' punch mark on it. So Oswald WAS on that bus. Which makes Mary Bledsoe's testimony all the more believable because it's backed up by physical evidence that was found in Lee Oswald's shirt pocket that very same day of November 22.

Do CTers really think the DPD wanted (or NEEDED) to "coerce" Mary E. Bledsoe to testify that Oswald was on McWatters' bus? The cops already had even BETTER proof of Oswald's short 11/22 bus excursion---this bus transfer:

So why would the police need to bend Mrs. Bledsoe's arm like a pretzel to say it was Oswald?

CTers, as usual, always isolate everything. They never put the pieces back together again. Why is that? (I guess we'll never know.)

WALT CAKEBREAD SAID:

[In Commission Exhibit No. 903, Arlen Specter] is depicting the bullet as if it struck several inches higher than the hole in JFK's shirt and jacket.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Which only goes to show that Mr. Specter wasn't stupid. He was basing the back wound (entry) location on the SKIN entry hole ("14cm. below the mastoid..."), instead of utilizing the movable clothing of President Kennedy as the sole reference point, as conspiracy theorists so often want to do.

And just look at how nicely things "line up" when comparing CE903 with JFK's autopsy photo....

WALT CAKEBREAD SAID:

Why was an old Cadillac used for the demonstration, rather than a Lincoln Continental convertible?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Because the X-100 (Lincoln) limo was unavailable for the re-enactment tests on May 24, 1964. That's why. And the Warren Report states this on Page 97....

"Any differences [between the two limos] were taken into account"
-- WCR; Pg. 97

WALT CAKEBREAD SAID:

The spacing between "JFK" and "JBC" is much closer in the Cadillac than it would have been in the Lincoln. Do you really believe that is an accurate depiction of the event?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Yes. Absolutely it is. It's as accurate as humanly possible, at any rate.

The two stand-ins were seated in the same approximate positions as the real Kennedy and Connally. As can be seen in CE903, the Connally stand-in is seated lower than is "JFK". And the trajectory being plotted by Specter's pointer is a perfect match for the SBT, which, as I said previously, would be a virtual impossibility if two or three bullets caused all 7 wounds to both men on November 22nd.

Can't CTers see how unlikely a non-SBT shooting scenario is when taking one look at CE903?

Caption written by DVP....

Even if conspiracists want to argue that the exact angle is off, or that the entry holes are slightly off (and most CTers do want to argue these things, of course), the angle and wound locations are still mighty close to the Real McCoy, even via a CTer's eyes, are they not?

What are the odds that a team of multiple shooters could have peppered the two victims in such a nearly perfect "SBT"-like fashion (if not spot-on perfect) and have the wound pattern on the two victims align so that Arlen Specter would even be able to begin to propose this trajectory for a SINGLE-bullet conclusion?....

Plus: In any 3-Shot replacement theory, the CTers have to have ALL THREE BULLETS just vanish too! (Assuming the CTer proposing the theory believes that CE399 was a "planted" bullet and JFK's throat wound was a wound of entry instead of exit, which very nearly all conspiracists do believe was the case.)

The chances are probably zero of such a non-SBT scenario having occurred -- i.e., a non-SBT scenario which mirrored the Single-Bullet Theory in so many ways, right down to the number of bullets (1) being found that can be associated with the double-victim wounding, plus the LACK OF BODILY DAMAGE sustained by President Kennedy (so that the most-reasonable explanation is to conclude that just one bullet went all the way through the man).

The SBT fits.
To a tee.
Always has.
Always will.
