JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 1262)

DAVID VON PEIN POSTED THIS LINK:

Vincent Bugliosi Interviews
and Personal Appearances...

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Do you have his [Vince Bugliosi's] lecture from Harvard where I caught him
in a lie?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

If you mean Mr. Bugliosi's personal appearance at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on May 22, 2007 — no, I don't have any audio or video of that particular appearance by VB.

I searched for it at Fora.tv's website (because I think it's quite possible that it was filmed by Fora.tv, although I could be mistaken about that), but I had no luck in finding any recording of that program.

But since this subject has come up (and since you, Tony Marsh, were there that night in Cambridge) — Did you by chance see any TV cameras or video cameras in the Brattle Theater that night? (I'm just curious.)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Maybe, but not public access cameras.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

OK. Thanks.

FIVE MONTHS LATER, DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Revised, expanded, and tweaked....

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

How come you don't have his lecture from Cambridge at the Brattle Theater? Remember, the one where I called him a liar to his face?

Ironically, just yesterday my old Communist buddy berated me for even going to that lecture when he had just recently gone to a lecture to heckle the speaker. And he was aghast that I sat behind Priscilla.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I wish I did have it. It apparently wasn't recorded on audio or video. And in wondering if there was any video coverage of that 5/22/07 event, I asked you this on April 22nd of this year (in this very thread)....

"I searched for it at Fora.tv's website (because I think it's quite possible that it was filmed by Fora.tv, although I could be mistaken about that), but I had no luck in finding any recording of that program. But since this subject has come up (and since you, Tony Marsh, were there that night in Cambridge) --- Did you by chance see any TV cameras or video cameras in the Brattle Theater that night? (I'm just curious.)" -- DVP; April 22, 2017

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

[DVP Said: "It apparently wasn't recorded on audio or video."]

Not that you know of. I was actually there. I saw the small video camera on a tripod. I have been attacked in the newsgroups for calling Bugliosi a liar at that lecture.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Why, then, didn't you provide me with that same answer this past April when I specifically asked you about cameras possibly being at the Brattle Theatre for the Bugliosi appearance? Instead, you answered with this wishy-washy reply:

"Maybe, but not public access cameras." -- T. Marsh; 4/24/17

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

See, you had to admit that I did answer your silly question. I am not
priveleged [sic] to know who taped it.

WHILE POKING SOME FUN AT MR. MARSH,
DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

But this question and enduring mystery remains....

Why didn't you, W. Anthony Marsh, want to correctly answer my question about the cameras the first time I asked you in April? Here's the exchange from April:

DVP -- "Did you by chance see any TV cameras or video cameras in the Brattle Theater that night?"

ANTHONY MARSH -- "Maybe, but not public access cameras."

---End Quotes---

But that "Maybe" answer was not a completely truthful answer at all, was it Mr. Marsh? We know now that it wasn't truthful because of these remarks uttered five months later by Anthony Marsh of Massachusetts on September 22, 2017:

"I was actually there. I saw the small video
camera on a tripod."

Did you hear that, ladies and gentlemen of the jury?! The defendant in this case, W. Anthony Marsh, just told you that he "SAW THE SMALL VIDEO CAMERA ON A TRIPOD" at the Brattle Theatre on May 22, 2007! He saw a camera there!

Now, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I suppose it's possible that Defendant Marsh held the opinion as of April of this year that I, DVP of the Hoosier State of Indiana, whom Mr. Marsh thinks of as merely a lowly insignificant "WC defender", simply could not handle the truth when it came to the true answer to the question of: Were there any cameras present at Vincent Bugliosi's public appearance held at the Brattle Theatre (located at 40 Brattle Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts 02138) on the night of Tuesday, May the 22nd, 2007?

And therefore, rather than provide me with a completely forthright and truthful answer to the question about the cameras, Defendant Marsh decided it would be better for everybody concerned if he answered my question with these wishy-washy, half-baked words on April the 24th, 2017:

"Maybe, but not public access cameras."

It's now time to let you, the jury, decide the outcome of this "Cameras Or No Cameras?" case. If you believe that Mr. W. Anthony Marsh was being totally forthright, candid, and truthful when he said the word "Maybe" in his Usenet newsgroup post of April 24th, 2017, then by all means you should vote the defendant Not Guilty.

But if you believe, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Mr. Marsh was being deliberately deceptive, slippery, and obfuscatory when he replied with that "Maybe" answer to my question this past April—well, then, the only fair verdict you, as a jury, can possibly reach would be a verdict of GUILTY OF DECEPTION IN THE FIRST DEGREE!

And there can be only one proper penalty for such a heinous crime—Mr. Marsh must be forced to read every single page and every single hilarious word that has been posted on this website:

http://OswaldInTheDoorway.blogspot.com

If that torturous penalty isn't enough to make Mr. Marsh realize the error of his ways, then nothing ever will.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen.

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 1089)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

He [Lee Harvey Oswald] did not run out of the building. He went into the lunch room and got a Coke...

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Very likely because he heard people coming up the stairs to the second floor. So he ducked into the lunchroom. Perfectly consistent with his guilt.

Now, prove he was coming UP from the first floor.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

...Stopped to talk to a secretary.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Dead wrong. Oswald never "stopped" to talk to anybody in the second-floor office area. Mrs. Reid TALKED TO HIM. Not the other way around. And he didn't stop:

MRS. REID -- "I kept walking and I looked up and Oswald was coming in the back door of the office. I met him by the time I passed my desk several feet and I told him, I said, "Oh, the President has been shot, but maybe they didn't hit him." He mumbled something to me, I kept walking. He did, too."

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

...Was confronted by a policeman. All that took time. That is not leaving as fast as he could.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Yes, it is leaving as fast as he could. That is, he left as fast as he could without drawing unneeded attention to himself.

Or maybe you think he should have jumped out of the sixth-floor window after shooting the President. (Oh, yeah, you're in denial about Oswald's guilt. I forgot.)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

And again you beg the question, assuming that Oswald was the shooter.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I don't assume he was the shooter. The evidence proves he was the shooter. (Oh, I forgot, all of the evidence is fake, right Tony? Including: the gun, the prints, the bullets, the shells, the paper bag with LHO's prints, and the fibers.)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Like most WC defenders, you call black white and white black.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

You've got things backwards again, Anthony. The CTers are the "black is white" experts. You're back on Neptune again today I see.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

When we point out that the rifle shoots high and to the right and call that a defect, the true WC defender says no, it is an advantage for the shooter shooting at a moving target down on Elm.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I don't know if it was truly an "advantage" in Oswald's case, but I do think that the "high and to the right" factor was possibly the reason why Oswald's first shot missed the entire automobile.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

When someone claims he is innocent, you use that to prove that he is guilty.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

You're silly, Tony. The evidence amply proves Oswald was guilty of shooting both Kennedy and Tippit, and you know it. You just like to argue. Simple as that.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

You are proud of the cover-up and alteration of Baker's statement in which he originally said that Oswald had a bottle of Coke.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

What statement are you talking about? Because if you're referring to the 9/23/64 document with the "Coke" crossed out, you know darn well that that document was NOT written by Marrion Baker. Baker only CORRECTED the incorrect data in that document and then initialed it.

All of that is explained in a common-sense manner here.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

You are proud of the perjury. You need perjury to convict someone. If Oswald was in the Domino Room at the time, how would he know EXACTLY when the assassination was and EXACTLY where he was at the moment the shots were fired?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

What in the world are you babbling on about now? Whose perjury? Marrion Baker's? Roy Truly's? Neither man perjured himself--ever.

And since Oswald was obviously on the sixth floor at 12:30, the rest of your above comment is worthless.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Yeah, let's just believe all the Dreyfus-did-it evidence, Right? Because the government proved he was guilty. That's your mindset. Saddam must have nuclear weapons because the government says so.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Why not stick to the subject at hand, Tony? Namely: the JFK assassination and Lee Harvey Oswald's involvement.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Why bother having trials at all if you've already convicted the person in the press and killed him?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I didn't kill him, Tony. Jack Ruby did that.

And since there was no trial (due to Ruby's handiwork), does that mean we can never arrive at a reasonable conclusion about who killed President Kennedy?

Or do you want to pretend Oswald is innocent because of the ol' "Innocent Until Proven Guilty In A Court Of Law" excuse?

IOW -- To hell with the evidence. ONLY a jury in a courtroom can declare Oswald guilty. Is that correct, Mr. Marsh?

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

At least I don't use someone's claim of innocence as proof of guilt the way you do.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I only use Oswald's claim of innocence against him because it was obviously a desperate lie on LHO's part. And the evidence proves he was lying. You know that, Tony.

Or should we just chuck all of that evidence out the nearest window (yet again), just because a bunch of conspiracy theorists have a feeling it was all tampered with?

Surely you jest.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

I have always said that Oswald killed Tippit.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

And just exactly why did he kill Tippit, Tony?

In other words: If he HADN'T just killed JFK, then what was the burning motive for Oswald to START KILLING PEOPLE just 45 minutes later?

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 1130)

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

How did your make-believe thief get the rifle out of Ruth Paine's garage without being heard or seen?

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Oh Master of Illogic, how did Oswald supposedly get the rifle out of Ruth Paine's garage without being heard [or] seen?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Oswald was staying at the Paine house on Nov. 21 and therefore had easy access to the garage. He wasn't a thief on the outside trying to get in.

And you think it would have been extremely difficult for Oswald to have merely taken his own rifle out of the Paine garage on Friday morning while everyone else in the house was asleep? You think that sleeping people would have noticed Oswald leaving the house with a package in his hands? That's odd.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

How did Oswald smuggle his 40-inch rifle into the TSBD without anyone seeing it?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

He didn't. Wesley Frazier saw it (the large package). And Wesley saw Oswald ENTER THE BUILDING with the package. (See Page 2 of Buell Wesley Frazier's 11/22/63 affidavit for confirmation of this.)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Where did he hide it all morning long so that no one would stumble across it?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Nobody can answer that question. And it is something I have asked myself too. But the fact we can never know where within the Book Depository Oswald hid his rifle prior to 12:30 PM on 11/22 is certainly not strong evidence that he never took the rifle into the building AT ALL.

Wes Frazier's testimony about seeing LHO take a package INTO THE BACK DOOR OF THE BUILDING, coupled with the fact that Oswald's own Carcano rifle was found on the sixth floor after the assassination, plus the empty brown bag in the Sniper's Nest (with Oswald's prints on it), pretty much make this part of the case easy to figure out. Oswald took his own rifle to work in a paper bag on 11/22/63.

But I can just as easily ask the conspiracy theorists the same two questions Tony Marsh just asked me:

How did THE CONSPIRATORS smuggle Oswald's 40-inch rifle into the TSBD without anyone seeing it?

And:

Where did THE CONSPIRATORS hide it all morning long so that no one would stumble across it?

Any ideas, Tony?

Or do you think that NOBODY brought that Carcano into the TSBD on the MORNING of Nov. 22? Do you think it made its way into the building by way of the police breaking into Ruth Paine's garage on the afternoon of Nov. 22 (but before 1:22 PM) and then the cops rushed the Carcano to the TSBD where it could be conveniently planted behind the boxes on the sixth floor (and then filmed by Tom Alyea before 1:30 PM)?

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Looking for the most simplistic solution is not a good way to solve a crime.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Yeah, sure Tony. It's always much much better to muddy the waters by pretending that a whole bunch of unprovable things happened -- like your theory about Oswald's rifle being stolen from Ruth Paine's house.

(Occam is turning over in his grave right now.)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Don't factor in what you can't prove.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Says the man who thinks Oswald's rifle was stolen.

Pot meets kettle--again.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

We know that the police lied about what Oswald said.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

We do? How do "we" know this for a fact, Anthony? Please enlighten us.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

We don't know that Oswald lied, because they did not record the interviews.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

You say with such certainty that "we know that the police lied about what Oswald said", but one second later you say "we don't know that Oswald lied, because they did not record the interviews".

So, even though we're talking about the very same unrecorded interviews, Tony Marsh is absolutely positive about the DPD telling lies, but he wants to give poor LHO the benefit of the doubt.

Nice double standard there, Tony.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Prove that he [Oswald] did [lie to Buell Wesley Frazier about the contents of the paper bag].

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

The proof that Oswald lied about the curtain rods is the fact that no curtain rods were ever found in the TSBD (and no curtain rods were ever found at Oswald's roominghouse on Beckley).

And I can only assume, Tony, that you don't really think that Oswald took some curtain rods out of the building at about 12:33 PM on Nov. 22 and then he just tossed them in a trash dumpster somewhere between the Depository and 1026 Beckley. Do you?

Or was Roy Truly a liar when he said what he said about curtain rods in CE2640?

Or would you like to pull a DiEugenio and call Buell Frazier a rotten liar? Frazier, as we all know, has never varied his story one bit about the curtain rods. For decades Frazier has told the same story about how Oswald (twice) mentioned "curtain rods" in association with LHO's unusual trip to the Paine home in Irving on Thursday, November 21st.

Do you really think Frazier is a liar, Tony?

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

It wasn't a large bag. It was a small bag.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

So, you think Frazier DID lie about the bag then, eh Tony? And Linnie Mae Randle must have lied too, because she said she saw Oswald carrying a decent-sized (not "small") bag on the morning of November 22.

Why are you intentionally misrepresenting the evidence, Tony?

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

We don't know what Oswald said to the police.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Sure we do. We can't know verbatim what Oswald told the police, but we know enough to know that Oswald was positively a big fat liar when it comes to a lot of substantive things associated with the two murder charges he was facing.

And we know for a fact that he was attempting to distance himself from the two murder weapons as much as he could--to the point of Oswald not mentioning the Neely address when he was asked to list all of his previous residences; and to the point where Oswald lied about where he purchased the Tippit murder weapon (even though he was caught red-handed with that gun on him when he was arrested).

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Time frame. Maybe he [Oswald] meant [he didn't own a rifle] at that moment [in November 1963].

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

You're reaching, Tony. And you know it. You know damn well that Oswald ordered, paid for, and possessed Carcano rifle #C2766 in 1963. The trail leading to him as the owner of that gun is three miles long.

You, as always, just like to argue about things that are proven facts.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

I can't prove it, but it seems likely [that Oswald's rifle was stolen].

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Fantasies are nice, aren't they Tony?

PAT SPEER SAID:

FWIW, David, I looked into this at one point and found...

1) The Paines were Quakers and never locked their garage door. This means the rifle could have been removed or stolen on any night over the last several weeks leading up to 11-22.

2) A cleaning crew and security agency had keys to the school book depository, and would have had access to the building on the nights leading up to 11-22.

3) The seventh floor was mostly unused, with a corner room used as a maintenance shed.

As a consequence, it is entirely possible someone stole the rifle a week or two before the shooting, then had it stashed in the building on the night of 11-21, or earlier. (I've found no evidence the cleaning crew and security guard were even interviewed along these lines. If you find these interviews, let me know, will ya?)

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

How is it even remotely possible for a reasonable and rational person who has been looking deeply into the JFK assassination evidence for several years (like Patrick J. Speer) to utter the above words about Oswald's rifle being stolen from Ruth Paine's home prior to 11/22/63?

The reason I can ask my last question is because of the following questions that I'd like for Pat Speer to answer:

1.) If Lee Oswald was only going to Irving to get some curtain rods, then why did he feel it necessary to go to the Paine house one day earlier than usual on 11/21/63?

2.) Why did Oswald lie (twice) to Buell Frazier about the "curtain rods"? If the bag really had something innocuous in it, then why does Oswald feel the need to lie about the bag's contents (twice) to Frazier (once on Thursday morning and again on Friday morning)?

3.) If not Rifle C2766, then what was in the package that Frazier and Linnie Randle saw Oswald carrying on 11/22/63?

4.) Since every last piece of physical evidence in the JFK and Tippit murder cases points straight to Lee Harvey Oswald, then why do so many conspiracists continually feel the need to paint him as an innocent patsy? Why would ANYONE do that? Just to be contrary?

PAT SPEER SAID:

This is not related to the question of whether or not it was possible someone stole the rifle and put it in the building.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

But those questions are most certainly relevant to THIS PARTICULAR CASE involving Oswald, his rifle, and his actions on November 21-22, 1963.

Sure, theoretically it's POSSIBLE that someone else could have swiped LHO's rifle before the assassination....but given the circumstances as they unfolded involving that rifle's OWNER (a chap named Oswald) on Nov. 21-22, is it REASONABLE to think that the theoretical possibility of some other person stealing Oswald's rifle is the truth in this case?

And, Pat, you know darn well that the four questions I posed in my previous post are reasonable and relevant questions when it comes to answering this big-ticket question:

Did Lee Harvey Oswald take his rifle into the TSBD on 11/22/63?

But you avoided having to deal with the reality of the situation by
merely pasting in the same "This is not related.." response to each of the questions I asked.

PAT SPEER SAID:

But that wasn't the question at hand. I answered truthfully that there were other ways for the rifle to get in the building, and you went into attack mode. .... You attacked me for telling the truth, then, rather than admit you were wrong, you asked a bunch of unrelated questions.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

If you were Oswald's defense lawyer at his murder trial, then, yes, you probably would offer up the anemic argument about the rifle being conveniently stolen without Oswald's knowledge (just as Gerry Spence did at the '86 mock trial in London when he had Ruth Paine on the witness stand).

But a reasonable jury isn't going to buy a single word of that pathetic argument when they hear the other side of the story -- i.e., when they hear the prosecution tell them all about Lee Oswald's own actions...and about the paper bag with Oswald's prints on it (which has never been proven to be a fake)...and about the make-believe "curtain rods"...and about Oswald's continuous lies that he told the police to distance himself as much as possible from the murder weapon...etc.

PAT SPEER SAID:

Well, right there you show the error of your ways. No one has to prove the bag was fake, only that it might be fake. And I've shown that over and over again--starting with the fact [DPD Lieutenant J.C.] Day LIED about signing the bag in the building, and the WC repeated this lie.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

But if you want to talk ONLY about "theoretical possibilities" regarding Mannlicher-Carcano Rifle #C2766 and how it got from Point A (Ruth Paine's garage in Irving, Texas) to Point B (the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository in downtown Dallas), then have a ball.

But given the evidence that says it was Lee Harvey Oswald HIMSELF who removed that rifle from Mrs. Paine's house on 11/22/63, any theory being proposed about Oswald's rifle being stolen is just about as believable as a theory which has Barbara Eden of "I Dream Of Jeannie" using her magic powers to "blink" the rifle from the Paine residence to the Depository.

Deep down, you know my last paragraph above is 100% spot-on accurate....don't you Pat?

PAT SPEER SAID:

No, not at all. First of all, there's no evidence the rifle was even in the house (or garage) on 11/22. Second of all, I find Frazier credible when he describes the bag he saw as a bag less than half the size of the bag in the FBI photos. You're locked onto this idea that the rifle had to have been in the bag, and the bag removed from the building is the one photographed by the FBI. I have no such lock.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Then explain to us how an empty brown paper bag (very similar in color to the one seen by Frazier and Randle), with Oswald's prints on it, ended up right below the window where JFK's assassin was located on 11/22?

Are you really suggesting that the Sniper's Nest bag (CE142), with LHO's prints on it, was a DIFFERENT bag from the one Frazier saw Oswald carrying?

You don't really want to travel down that road--do you, Pat?

Or, as a CT alternative, do you really think that Lt. Day, L.D. Montgomery, and Bob Studebaker (and possibly one other DPD officer) lied when they each said they saw the empty paper bag in the Sniper's Nest just after the assassination (even though it wasn't photographed on the floor)?

JEAN DAVISON SAID:

Excuse me, Pat, but those questions *are* related to the idea that someone stole Oswald's rifle. A stolen rifle has to fit with the rest of the evidence or it's not worthy of belief.

PAT SPEER SAID:

It does. There are a number of pieces of evidence more suggestive of a set-up than guilt. Fibers that appear after the rifle's been dusted for prints. Palm prints uncovered by the DPD after the FBI dusted the rifle and found no prints. A paper bag put into evidence that supposedly held the rifle that bears little resemblance to the bag removed from the building.

I'm not a lawyer, but even I could get Oswald off with evidence as shaky as this. Which might be too bad... IMO, there's a slight possibility Oswald killed Kennedy, but that the DPD and FBI were afraid it wouldn't stick, and fudged up a case against him...mucking it up forevermore.

JEAN DAVISON SAID:

No, that's not what I meant by "fit with the rest of the evidence." Let's not change the subject back to the same-old CT complaints about the WC's case, okay? I'm trying to focus on the weaknesses in the CTs' case, for a change.

If what you propose actually happened, was it just a coincidence that Oswald went to Irving on Thursday, left his wedding ring, and carried a package to work -- a package unusual enough for Frazier to ask Oswald what it was and for his sister to bring it up to the cops?

PAT SPEER SAID:

I have no idea. Oswald might have provided us the answer but he was murdered while under the "protection" of the Dallas Police.

Since Oswald was murdered before he could answer questions 1-3, it is illogical and unfair to assume he had no answers for them.

JEAN DAVISON SAID:

Oswald did answer questions 1-3, according to his interrogators. He said that he went to Irving on Thursday because there was going to be a children's party that weekend (the party had actually taken place the previous weekend). He said that the only package he brought was his lunch, which he kept in the front seat. Either Oswald lied, or these people did.

The theory that Oswald was innocent requires many improbable coincidences and a long, long list of people who lied in order to help frame him. CTs never seem to want to address this problem, though.

[...]

As I said, Oswald did provide an answer during questioning. But let's say those people lied too, and that Oswald had a perfectly good reason for his actions. It doesn't matter! It would STILL be a huge coincidence that Oswald carried out these actions that made him look guilty.

Think about it. What remarkably bad luck it was to bring a package from Irving and leave his wedding ring on the very day that his rifle was found in the TSBD. And his bad day continued. He may've had another perfectly good reason for not watching the motorcade and for being near the back stairs at just the time the sniper would've arrived there if he'd hurried downstairs.

Or maybe Oswald was just incredibly dumb and following orders. In your view, which do you think is more likely -- unlucky or dumb?

I hope you'll answer that. Up to now, those are the only two alternatives to the WC's explanation that CTs have ever come up with, so far as I know.

PAT SPEER SAID:

You seem to be inflicted with the Oswald virgin/whore complex I discussed earlier. He's either unlucky or dumb? Are you kidding me?

JEAN DAVISON SAID:

Certainly not. I'm asking you to give me an explanation for this evidence other than the obvious one -- Oswald went to Irving a day early because his rifle was there. He left his wedding ring, took his rifle to work, shot JFK, then hurried downstairs.

Hundreds of CT books have been written, yet virtually none of them even try to explain it some other way. The reason is obvious: it's hard to do. (It's sort of like trying to give an innocent explanation for the cuts on O.J.'s hands.)

It seems you've chosen the "following orders" alternative. Okay...

PAT SPEER SAID:

Is it really beyond your imagination that Oswald was involved in some sort of plot--let's say a plot to hoist a banner from a sixth floor window calling for co-existence with Cuba (or the opposite--an invasion of Cuba)--and that this was turned against him? Or that he was ordered by Phillips to infiltrate an anti-Castro plot--that turned it around on him? I mean, in this last scenario, do you think Phillips and the CIA would ADMIT Oswald was their man? Really?

Well, seeing as they never told the WC of the plots against Castro, and still refuse to cough up the truth about Joannides, I think it's obvious they would admit no such thing... In the name of national security, etc...

Heck, for all WE know, Oswald is one of the unidentified stars on the CIA's wall. Right by the Alabama National Guardsmen, killed during the Bay of Pigs, who were really working for the CIA, which the government claimed were mercenaries, for years.

JEAN DAVISON SAID:

It's not beyond my imagination at all, but is it plausible? The plotters would have to make certain that Oswald didn't manage to establish an alibi for himself. How would they do that? (The one and only CT explanation I've read is that Oswald was ordered to hide in the second floor bathroom while the motorcade went by. Really??)

What would prevent LHO from blurting out the truth after his arrest? It doesn't sound likely to me, and there's no evidence that this is what happened, is there?

PAT SPEER SAID:

Well, how about Thomas Kelley, who testified about the May 24 SBT re-enactment for the Secret Service? He testified that the horizontal trajectory worked because Connally's jump seat was six inches inboard of the back seat, when the schematics released by the HSCA showed it to be 2 1/2 inches.

JEAN DAVISON SAID:

Every witness and every investigator was fallible, so the default explanation ought to be "mistake," not "lie."

The WR didn't even use Kelley's "six inches inboard," apparently. It said:

"Even though the precise distance cannot be ascertained, it is apparent that President Kennedy was somewhat to the Governor's right." [WR; Page 105]

PAT SPEER SAID:

So, let's be clear, do you think Specter was telling the whole truth when, AFTER viewing the back wound photo, he nevertheless supported the accuracy of the Rydberg drawings in both Kelley's testimony, and the Warren Report? Or was this just a little over-sight?

JEAN DAVISON SAID:

I don't follow you. At one point Kelley said that the chalk mark was based on the drawing *and* the hole in JFK's coat, and clearly the chalk mark is much closer to the hole in the coat (and to the actual back wound) than the inaccurate Rydberg drawing was.

The SBT requires that the wound be where it actually was -- in the upper back, not in the neck itself. It's a myth that the wound was "moved up" or that it needed to be.

[...]

How many liars were there? Specter, Kelley, Shaneyfelt, Cunningham, Eisenberg, Gallagher, Lt. Day, the men who said the bag was found in the SN... who am I forgetting?

JOHN CORBETT SAID:

The CTs really have two choices to make the case for conspiracy. One would be to accept Oswald's obvious guilt but make the case that he had accomplices. The other is to claim Oswald was just a patsy, which makes a de facto case for conspiracy. The former would seem to be the obvious way to go but since they can't find any compelling evidence to link Oswald to any group or individuals, they resort to the second choice which forces them to argue that the physical evidence was all tampered with to make poor innocent LHO look guilty. Never mind that it would take a cast of hundreds if not thousands to pull that one off.

PAT SPEER SAID ALL THIS.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

After reading Pat Speer's last post, I think I'll merely repeat my earlier question (which will always be valid whenever discussing the JFK case with conspiracy theorists):

"Since every last piece of physical evidence in the JFK and Tippit murder cases points straight to Lee Harvey Oswald, then why do so many conspiracists continually feel the need to paint him as an innocent patsy? Why would ANYONE do that? Just to be contrary?" -- DVP; 4/10/12

PAT SPEER SAID:

Thanks, David, I'll take that as a clear admission on your part that you agree Specter lied--but that you just don't care. Most LNs--for some strange reason--tend to look at the assassination as strictly a matter of whodunnit. They think Oswald did it and that's all that matters. My interest in the case transcends "whodunnit" and extends to how was it investigated and did the government LIE. The answer is clearly YES, we were lied to, over and over.

At this point in time, moreover, that clear-cut fact is far more important than Oswald's guilt or innocence.

PAT SPEER ALSO SAID:

Open your eyes, David. The wound was on [JFK's] back.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

And the wound is on the stand-in's back in CE903 too. So, as I asked before--why are conspiracy theorists complaining?

You seem to still want to believe that Specter's pointer has the entry wound way up in the neck someplace. Why do you continue to believe that, Pat?

DAVID VON PEIN ALSO SAID:

Pat,

Do you REALLY think that there is a huge difference in the back-wound locations in the two photos shown below?

Do you really think Specter's rod is NOT in just about the same place as the real wound in JFK's upper back (as seen in the righthand picture)?

The level of the wounds in both pictures is pert-near identical. JFK's real wound in the center of his upper back is situated very near the top of his shoulders, just where Specter has it in CE903.

Anyone looking at these two photographs side-by-side who still thinks that Specter's rod isn't even close to the real wound is, frankly, a fool:

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 923)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

He [Howard Brennan] saw a lot of conspiracy stuff BEFORE and AFTER the shooting, but did not see the shooter DURING the shooting.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I wonder why Marsh is telling this blatant falsehood? The fact is: Howard Brennan most definitely saw the shooter DURING the shooting. He always said that. From Day 1 he said that, as proven by this November 22 statement....

"I then saw this man I have described in the window and he was taking aim with a high powered rifle. .... I was looking at the man in this window at the time of the last explosion." -- Howard L. Brennan; 11/22/63 Affidavit

And if you, Tony Marsh, actually believe that the above words written by Mr. Brennan are proven wrong by the Zapruder Film, you are sadly in error, because the Z-Film doesn't show Brennan at the time of the third shot. Zapruder's camera isn't even close to showing the area where Brennan was located (near the Elm and Houston corner) at the time of the fatal shot at Z-frame 313. And you know that's true. So why did you say this to me on October 10, 2011?.....

"The Zapruder film...shows that he [Howard Brennan] was looking at the limo at the time of the shots, not up at the TSBD." -- Tony Marsh; 10/10/11

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

A witness [Buell Frazier] that the kooks rely on to prove Oswald's innocence, so of course you have to attack him.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Huh? You think I was "attacking" Wesley Frazier in my previous comments concerning his 11/22 affidavit? I was attacking the conspiracy clowns who want to make Frazier out to be a liar. Now, how is that "attacking" Frazier?

(Marsh is making less sense with each passing day.)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

No, no one says that Frazier just made up the curtain rod story.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Oh really? Go ask Ian Griggs and see what he says. And Jim DiEugenio. They both think Frazier invented the long brown package from utter whole cloth. (The cops forced him to do it, per Jimbo.)

And there are now also countless Internet CTers who are playing "Follow The Leader" and have decided to believe that Frazier lied about the package too.

In other words, let's pretend everybody was lying except the person who really was lying, Oswald. That's always a fun game to play, isn't it? The CTers think so anyway.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

WC defenders say that conspiracy believers just made up the curtain rod story to prove Oswald innocent.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I know of zero "WC defenders" who have ever said anything stupid like that. In order to believe that idiotic theory, those same "WC defenders" would have to totally snub their noses at Buell Frazier's testimony and statements that indicate Oswald said the words "curtain rods" to Frazier twice on November 21 and 22.

Do you think the "WC defenders" were able to falsify Frazier's 11/22/63 affidavit where Frazier specifically mentions "curtain rods"?

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

But it's ok for you to claim that Oswald made up stories. Because he's the guy that you want to frame.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Who had more of a reason to want to make up stories after the assassination --- Buell Wesley Frazier or Lee Harvey Oswald?

As for wanting to frame Oswald --- Lee accomplished that feat all by himself, by killing two people on November 22 and leaving behind physical evidence of his (double) guilt.

So, knowing the evidence as I do, why on Earth would I "want to frame" an obviously guilty double murderer? There's no reason for anybody to even want to do that, because the evidence convicts Oswald ten times over. And neither you or any other conspiracy theorist on the face of this planet has ever proved that even ONE piece of the evidence in the JFK or Tippit murder cases was fake or fraudulent. Many CTers pretend they have "proved" it. But they haven't. Not even close.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Marina was scared into cooperating. You'd be scared too if we told you we're going to deport you to Russia.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Yeah, right, Tony. As if Marina (a RUSSIAN) being sent back to her own native country (RUSSIA) would have been a fate worse than death for her.

Get real. You're hilarious.

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 1099)

BUD SAID:

Is Ben Holmes Stupid?

As some of you may know, Ben Holmes is a conspiracy monger who hides out (literally) at alt.conspiracy.jfk. In a recent exchange with John [McAdams] there, Ben called John a liar, and then went on to produce evidence proving what he said to be 100% correct. Here is the exchange...

John McAdams: "Actually, no. He [Bill Newman] thought the shots came from behind him."

Ben Holmes: "You're lying, John. (And although I know you'll snip this - You've been truly caught out on this one.) [Quoting Bill Newman:] "I thought the shot had come from the garden directly behind me, that it was on an elevation from where I was as I was right on the curb. I do not recall looking toward the Texas School Book Depository. I looked back in the vacinity [sic] of the garden.""

As anyone can plainly see, John said the witness said the shots came from behind him and Ben produced corroboration to what John said, yet still called him a liar.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Typical behavior from Ben Holmes, to be sure.

And it's remarkable how the CTers will twist and turn the comments (and/or testimony) of certain witnesses to suit their pro-conspiracy needs and desires--with William Newman being one such witness.

Newman, as discussed at these forums not long ago, is really a pretty decent witness for the "LN" side, when all is said and done, with Newman not supporting a "Knoll assassin" theory at all. He clearly marked a map in 1986 [seen below] with the location where he thought he heard the shots coming from--and the mark he put on that map isn't anywhere near the famous picket fence on the Knoll. Newman's mark is much closer to the TSBD, in fact:

PAT SPEER SAID:

It's probably just a misunderstanding. It seems possible Holmes thinks that when John said "the shots came from behind him", the "him" in the statement was Kennedy.

I know I've run into similar mix-ups over the years.

BUD SAID:

Kind of you to give Ben the benefit of the doubt. I wasn't trying to be kind to him.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Why do you [DVP] ignore his [Bill Newman's] very first statement to Jay Watson? Is that because you don't know how to find videos on YouTube.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Ignored it? Are you serious, Marsh? I've had that Watson/Newman footage on my YouTube channels and websites for years (and not the REVERSED version of the videotape that you linked to, BTW; this version you provided has been reversed to [sneakily] make it look as though Bill Newman points to his right temple when talking about the head shot, vs. his left temple). Here's the properly oriented footage:

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

We have discussed that reversal before. No mystery. And no huge conspiracy to put the entrance wound in the right temple. .... The solution is simple. Newman was holding onto his son who was sitting on his lap. And using his strong arm, so he only had his left arm free to point. It is not meant to be accurate.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Precisely. We're in total agreement as to why Bill Newman pointed to his left temple instead of pointing to his right temple. He only had his left hand free.

But you certainly didn't provide any "solution" for the weird "reversed" video that somebody posted on YouTube, which is a reversed video that makes it look as if Newman was pointing to his RIGHT temple.

Why on Earth would anyone want to reverse the video image of Newman? (I have a good idea as to the motive, but Marsh probably wouldn't agree with my theory at all. He never does. Right, Tony?)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

And he [Newman] is only pointing to where he saw the skull open up.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Precisely. We're in total agreement again. (But I'll bet my next month's CIA Disinfo check that Marsh will still find something to argue about here.)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

You make much ado about nothing to avoid discussing WHAT HE SAID.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

~chuckles warmly~

You're funnier than Jack Benny, Tony. You actually think I HAVEN'T discussed what Bill Newman said about shots coming from "directly behind me"?

I just linked to it in my last post. Maybe you missed it. Here it is again:

JFK-Archives.blogspot.com/2010/11/bill-and-gayle-newman.html

And in the above-linked article, I want people to pay particular attention to the amazingly silly comments directed at me by David Lifton in July 2011. If you can believe it, a man who thinks that JFK's body was altered before the autopsy and who also thinks that ALL of the gunshots came from the FRONT of President Kennedy, actually had the gonads to say this to me:

"DVP is just a flat out liar. .... Guys like DVP are committed to a false reality, and will bend the English language to support their misconception. I really do believe he's just a garden variety liar." -- David S. Lifton

Only one word is appropriate after reading the above comments----

Unbe-freaking-lievable.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

He [Bill Newman] never said TSBD.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I never said that Newman said "TSBD". Maybe you should quit saying I claimed any such thing regarding William E. Newman. Ya think?

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

He [Newman] said hill. You lose.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Newman said "directly behind me", which, when taking Newman literally, is a location where (quite obviously) NO SHOTS CAME FROM.

You lose.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

I could find 2 or 3 kooks who can see the shooter behind the pergola. So what?

There's even one kook who says the shot came from Zapruder's camera. So what?

You want to start matching kooks?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Yes, precisely. And since we KNOW that no shots came from the "pergola" area where Newman said he heard shots, then Mr. Newman MUST HAVE BEEN INCORRECT in his assessment of where the shots originated.

That, Tony, is the WHOLE POINT. Newman was obviously wrong. So, therefore, why do CTers utilize him as a great "conspiracy" witness? He's not. And never was.

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 1088)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

You think that there isn't anyone on this Earth who hasn't figured out that you are a WC defender?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

You're humorous, Anthony. You think the whole world knows I even exist?

99.999+% of the Earth's population has never heard of DVP, and they've never heard of Tony Marsh either.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Hanging around the TSBD for several minutes [indicates LHO's guilt]?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Oswald left the building as fast as he could. You think three minutes is a long time for LHO to stay in the building after shooting JFK from an upper floor of the Book Depository, and then having to go to the opposite side of the building to get to the stairs, and then crossing the building again to get to the front door?

You're hilarious.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Calm and collected when confronted by Baker [indicates LHO's guilt]?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Yep. That "calm and collected" demeanor is much more indicative of guilt than it is of LHO's innocence at that particular moment in time on November 22nd. And you should know why.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Buying a Coke and drinking it [indicates LHO's guilt]?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

He purchased his Coke after his confrontation with Officer Baker. LHO knew he'd just been cleared as a regular employee. His Coke purchase was likely an effort to look "normal" after his murderous deed. He might have also been thinking ahead to a potential alibi that he could use later on, like--say--telling the lie he told to the police about going to the second floor to buy a Coke at just about the same time JFK was being assassinated.

More Coke talk HERE.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

A patsy does not need to know that he is being set up as the patsy at the time. Yeah, so only a GUILTY person would say that he didn't shoot anyone. Therefore whenever anyone is arrested and claims to be innocent, to you that PROVES his guilt. Are you sure you are in the right country?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Yeah, let's just scrap all of the LHO-did-it evidence. Right, Tony? None of
that stuff proves a damn thing, does it?

Why even HAVE any evidence at all in a murder case then, if it's just going to be ignored--which is exactly what most conspiracy theorists do with it?

And Tony apparently thinks that most murderers will confess to their crimes no matter how desperately they want to get away with those criminal acts.

After all, a sweet golden person like Lee Harvey Oswald would never tell a lie, would he, Anthony? He would never lie about something so serious as a double-murder charge, would he?

And, naturally, he'd never tell any falsehoods about that curtain rod package either. Would he, Anthony?

Are you sure you're on the right planet, Tony?

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 1098)

CLAVIGER SAID:

Ten corroborating witnesses as to shots from the 6th floor of the TSBD building.

Outside:
H L BRENNAN
MRS E CABELL
M O COUCH
J N CRAWFORD
A L EUINS
R H JACKSON
J R WORRELL

Inside:
J E JARMAN JR
H NORMAN
B R WILLIAMS

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Which one actually saw the shots being fired?

CLAVIGER SAID:

Outside:
H L BRENNAN
MRS E CABELL
M O COUCH
J N CRAWFORD
A L EUINS
R H JACKSON
J R WORRELL

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Wrong. Only Brennan.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Via Tony Marsh's "Only Brennan" comment above, Marsh apparently thinks it makes a lot of sense to consider the idea that somebody was sticking a useless rifle out of the sixth-floor window and didn't fire any shots at all with that rifle.

It's another (of hundreds) of instances where a conspiracy theorist will isolate something separately and then fail to piece it together to make the "whole".

So, Marsh (and other conspiracists) will isolate the information about ONLY Howard Brennan being a witness to a rifle actually being FIRED from the southeast corner of the Depository's sixth floor.

But Marsh also knows, of course, that three spent bullet casings were found directly under that SAME window where other witnesses (besides Brennan) saw a gun. And Oswald's rifle was found on that same sixth floor.

Therefore, could a defense lawyer actually expect a reasonable jury to buy this argument:

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, just because Mr. Euins and
Mr. Jackson and Mr. Couch and Mr. Worrell saw a rifle sticking out of
an upper-story window of the Book Depository, and just because
physical evidence of a gunman was found on the sixth floor, this
doesn't mean that you, the jury in this case, have to buy into the
notion that ANYONE AT ALL was firing a rifle from that sixth-floor
window. All the prosecution has got is Howard Brennan! And we all know
what a liar that guy is, right? In other words, you must ALWAYS be
willing to ISOLATE every witness, and you must never, NEVER, be
willing to put these isolated pieces of evidence back together to form
a cohesive whole. Never do that! For, if you do, you'll be playing
right into the hands of the prosecution...and into the hands of your
own common sense. And I know none of you jurors would want that. I
rest my case."

[/Perry Mason off.]

Conspiracy believers love to do this same silly "isolation" trick with the Tippit witnesses too, as they place each of those witnesses into their own separate isolation booth, while failing to see the illogic of their arguments.

Since we know beyond ANY doubt that Lee Oswald was, indeed, travelling on foot near Tenth & Patton (with a gun in his hands) on 11/22/63.....

And since we also know beyond all doubt that the gun that Lee Oswald had on him when he was arrested was, in fact, the gun that murdered J.D. Tippit.....

Then it becomes quite silly for conspiracy theorists to "isolate" a witness like, say, Ted Callaway -- with the CTers always saying that Callaway cannot really be used as a "Tippit Murder Witness", because Callaway didn't actually see anyone firing any bullets at Tippit.

But this is just incredibly silly thinking, due to the OTHER evidence that does exist (in conjunction with Callaway's observations) which proves beyond all possible doubt that Lee Harvey Oswald was Tippit's murderer.

And I'm still scratching my head and wondering how in this wide world a person with obviously above-average intelligence the likes of the late Mr. Harold Weisberg could possibly be silly enough to make a statement like this one (which is a direct, verbatim quote from Weisberg's mouth):

"I have no reason to believe that any of the shooting came from the sixth floor." -- Harold Weisberg

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

No one stuck a rifle outside the window. The acoustical evidence proves that exactly three shots were fired from INSIDE the sniper's nest.

I don't mind if you have only one witness who says he actually saw the rifle firing a shot. Fine with me. But don't misrepresent the historical evidence in this case and claim that it was 20 witnesses, or everyone in Dealey Plaza. Just stick to the facts.

So what [if Oswald's rifle was found on the sixth floor]? I have never argued that his rifle was not fired during the assassination. My point remains that you can not prove that it was Oswald firing those shots.

We all know what a bad witness [Howard Brennan] was and we know that he refused to identify Oswald the first time, until the cops took him aside and had a little talk with him. That might come out in court. Of course, the Zapruder film would not come out in court which shows that he was looking at the limo at the time of the shots, not up at the TSBD.

I guess you've never been in court. A defense attorney who does not attack the credibility of the state's star witness should be disbarred.

JEAN DAVISON SAID:

Brennan said that when he first looked up at the TSBD, Oswald was taking aim for his last shot. Zapruder had already panned past him by then, so there's no contradiction.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Some WC defenders claim that the proof that Oswald shot the President is that he left his wedding ring on the dresser.

JEAN DAVISON SAID:

Please name anyone who has said that, Tony. The ring is only one of many pieces of circumstantial evidence, not proof. And please don't say "Google it." That's a dodge.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Or some WC defenders claim that the proof that it was an International Communist Conspiracy was when Oswald raised his right fist to give the Communist salute. Ask Jean [Davison] about that. But you never dare to ridicule them.

JEAN DAVISON SAID:

Yes, ask me! I've never claimed there was an international communist conspiracy or that Oswald's raised fist was a communist salute.

More irony -- today you [Tony Marsh] posted this:

QUOTE:

"No, not what I said at all. Let me repeat this for about the millionth time. Never presume to tell me what I agree to. Never. All you do is misinterpret and misrepresent what I have said."

UNQUOTE

That's exactly what I'm saying to you, Tony.

And I'm not "attacking" you any more than you're "attacking" me. This is a debate forum, right? Anyway, relax. Have a nice day.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

The HSCA acoustical tests proved that exactly three shots came from the sniper's nest. If they had not accidentally discovered the grassy knoll shot, each and every one of you WC defenders would be bashing us conspiracy believers over the head with it every day, every hour, that now we have the scientific proof that Oswald killed JFK.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

No. Not at all. No reasonable-thinking LNer would be doing any such silly thing. And that's because the acoustical evidence -- ALL of it, and not just the "4th Shot" -- is pure junk and has been destroyed by the NAS study in 1982.

Obviously, if the limo was long gone from the scene of the crime when the acoustical "impulse patterns" were being recorded on the Dictabelt at DPD (and the limousine was, indeed, long gone from Dealey Plaza at that time), then NONE of those impulse patterns can possibly be gunshots -- not the "4th shot" or the three impulse patterns that you claim prove that 3 shots were fired from the Sniper's Nest.

All of that acoustics stuff is garbage. I.E., all of those "impulse patterns" had to have been caused by something other than gunshots--because all of the gunshots that were fired that day had already been fired by the time those impulse sounds were being recorded. (Or do you want to theorize that even sixty seconds AFTER the assassination there were still some gunmen firing away at JFK, even though his car was on Stemmons Freeway by that time?)

Why in the world are you still propping up ANY portion of the HSCA's acoustical nightmare, Tony? Just for the fun of hanging on to a discredited theory? It's bizarre that someone would do that. (Oops, check that--you're a conspiracy theorist. And that's what they do every day--hang on to valueless and worthless information and theories. My mistake.)

And I just love Robert Groden's recent claims (via a Black Op Radio appearance a month or two ago) about how he now thinks that up to FIFTEEN shots were fired in Dealey Plaza.

Now, just put that "15-shot" theory right next to the "Dictabelt" theory -- and what we'd have to believe is that there must have been 15 separate acoustical fingerprints of gunshots on that Dictabelt.

And, to put Groden's 15-shot theory into another context, we'd have to believe that EVERY witness in Dealey Plaza got the number of shots wrong. Even A.J. Millican, who heard only eight. (Do "silenced" shots leave the same "acoustical fingerprint" as audible ones?)

Groden must actually think that the approx. 75% of the earwitnesses who heard exactly THREE shots must have somehow (inexplicably) missed hearing the other TWELVE gunshots. TWELVE shots missed being heard!

Yeah, sure Bob.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Then show me what caused them [the impulse patterns on the DPD Dictabelt recording] and prove it.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I haven't the foggiest idea what caused the impulse patterns on the Dictabelt (just static, probably), but it couldn't possibly have been gunshots -- for two very good reasons:

1.) The sounds were recorded at about 12:31, not 12:30.

and

2.) There's no motorcycle anywhere near the corner of Elm & Houston at the time of the first shot -- which is proven by taking just one look at Robert Hughes' film.

Case (really) closed.

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 802)

DUNCAN MacRAE SAID:

[When posting messages to jfkassassinationforum.com]...Do not add links to forums where only the CT side or only the LN side of the JFK Assassination argument is allowed to be discussed.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

The above rule would therefore apply to the following four "forums" only (at least these are the only 4 current online "forums" I have encountered that have totally shut off the "LN" voice entirely; and there are zero "LN Only" forums, as far as I am aware)....

1.) Deep Politics Forum

2.) Greg Parker's "Re-Open Kennedy Case" forum

3.) Wim Dankbaar's "JFK Murder Solved" forum

4.) Greg Burnham's new forum

I've never seen a single "LNer" post anything at any of the forums listed above.

Am I missing any others? I don't think I am. And I visit all JFK forums on a daily basis.

EDIT -- Addendum....

Another "forum" that probably has never accepted an "LN" member is Len Osanic's Black Op Radio forum. (Although I haven't been to that forum in a long time. It was infected with a virus a while back, and I've been afraid to go there ever since.)

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

I have posted dissenting opinions on the Deep Politics Forum. If this cite [sic] were for either CT or LN opinions only, then my posts would have vanished. However, these dissenting opinions are still on the board.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

So?

Sure, differing opinions among the "CTer" ranks is permitted. But Dawn Meredith is on record as saying she would never permit an "LNer" to register at DPF. She said that very thing as recently as February 20, 2014:

"We don't allow LN ers. So that omits that waste of time."
-- Dawn Meredith; Founding Member of Deep Politics Forum; 2/20/14

Ergo, my previous comment is still 100% true:

"I've never seen a single "LNer" post anything at any of the forums listed above."

And the last time I checked, Herbert Blenner was most certainly not an "LNer".

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

You are color blind.

I am a Coverup Theorist who acknowledges the absence of credible evidence of conspiracy.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

So you think Oswald acted alone, do you Herb?

"Like it or not, the medical evidence documents and independently discusses two wounds of the back." -- Herbert Blenner

Do you think Oswald caused BOTH of the JFK back wounds you talk about in the above quote, Herbert? (Including the one non-existent back wound you invented in your own mind.)

Anyway, no matter, a "Cover-up Theorist" is also a "Conspiracy Theorist". Just a different name being placed on it. And a "cover-up theorist" would certainly still be welcomed with open arms by the fantasists running the DPF.

HERBERT BLENNER SAID:

I did not invent a back wound. The medical panels described a 7 mm by 10 mm wound with its longer axis nearly perpendicular to the long axis of the body. However, Commander Humes and his autopsy report discussed a 7 mm by 4 mm back wound with its longer axis approximately parallel to the same long axis of the body.

The artists, Rydberg and Dox, illustrated the conflicting directions of the longer axes of these wounds.

Fox-5 shows two distinct objects with relative dimensions and orientations of their longer axes that match the conflicting descriptions of the back wounds.

See the following link for details.

http://hdblenner.com/coldfusion.htm

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

You DID invent a second back wound, Herb. And you know it. There is not ONE piece of documentation in the official record that even SUGGESTS the existence on John Kennedy's body of a SECOND bullet hole in his back. YOU, yourself, have interpreted the measurements and testimony in a way that YOU want to interpret those things.

But the official record is crystal clear---from the autopsy report, to Clark's Panel, to the Warren Commission, to the Rockefeller Commission, to the HSCA---and that is: JFK had ONE wound in his upper back. Not two.

You're not only a "Cover-up Theorist", Herbert, you're a "Wound Revisionist Theorist" as well.

And since Herbert "acknowledges the absence of credible evidence of conspiracy", it makes me wonder WHY there was any need whatsoever for a bunch of people to start "covering up" a lot of things relating to JFK's murder?

If there's no "credible evidence of conspiracy" to begin with, why the "cover-up", Herb?

REPLAY:

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I've never seen a single "LNer" post anything at any of the forums listed above.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Maybe they have, but you don't know their aliases.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Oh sure, Tony. And nobody at the DPF forum or the other "CT" forums would possibly be able to figure out that the person using the "alias" was REALLY an "LNer" because of the alias, right?

IOW, the person's COMMENTS about Oswald doing it alone wouldn't be any kind of a hint to Dawn Meredith and the other fantasists at the all-CT forums merely because the poster was using a fake name.

You're too funny, Tony.

(Does Tony ever sort things out in his mind before posting? I often wonder---like now.)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

I know of one guy named David Von Pein who only allows pro-WC articles on his Web site/blog.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Gee, I wonder why?

Could it be because David Von Pein is an "LNer" and he is the only author permitted to post at his sites/blogs? (Which is precisely the way DVP wants it and always will.)

Can you imagine the misery I'd have if I permitted "CT" authors to have the ability to arbitrarily post their junk on MY sites? Yikes! Why would ANY blog owner ever do that? I sure won't.

In fact, I'm not sure I know of any blog owner who actually allows other people (other than the blog owner/creator) to post new articles on his/her blog. If you know of any blog owner who allows such multi-person posting, please provide the link. I'd like to see that.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Some of the people here are too lame to figure it out.

I have my own Web site. I have put articles on it from WC defenders. It's called OPEN RESEARCH. Something you've never heard of. All you know is bias. Jeff Morley allows WC defenders to say stupid things on his blog.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Tony,

I've linked to many pro-conspiracy articles on my sites. And I've copied and pasted many additional CT arguments from Internet forums into my webpages (my "Assorted JFK Arguments" series is up to almost 1200 parts now).

So I've given the "Conspiracy" side a voice. Plenty of voice, in fact. So maybe you should investigate things a little better before shooting off your mouth with silly comments like this one --

"It's called OPEN RESEARCH. Something you've never heard of. All you know is bias." -- W. Anthony Marsh

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

And McAdams has cited some of my articles, but only when they are not blatantly conspiratorial. And he loves to quote anything I say which criticizes another conspiracy believer. The old Divide and Conquer strategy.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I'm now kinda sad that Marsh has been quoted in the book that Mel Ayton and I have coming out very soon. (Believe me, that was Mel's idea to quote Mr. Marsh in the book, not mine.)

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Say it ain't so, Joe. I hope he quotes me calling you a liar. I doubt he'll quote my article proving that the Zapruder film is authentic. Wouldn't want the general public to know about that, eh?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I can't even remember right now what the topic was, Tony. But I do remembering cringing a little bit when I saw that Mel had quoted Anthony Marsh for our lone-assassin book. I didn't much like that idea at all (and I still don't). But, I'm just the second author. Mel is the main author, so I don't have complete control of the book's contents. But fortunately I was able to convince Mel to leave out a couple of other things that also made me cringe even worse than your quote.

JFK ASSASSINATION ARGUMENTS
(PART 997)

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

For anybody who thinks Jack Ruby killed Lee Harvey Oswald as part of a pre-arranged conspiratorial plot (which would encompass almost all conspiracy theorists worldwide), the video linked HERE is certainly worth watching. It is a C-Span video which includes a panel of journalists who assembled at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, for a day-long commemorative seminar on November 20, 1993, to observe the 30th anniversary of JFK's assassination.

The moderator of the panel featured in the above-linked video is Tony Zoppi, who was Jack Ruby's friend since 1951. It's fascinating to hear Zoppi explain his relationship with Ruby, and particularly the part about Ruby's trip to Havana, Cuba, in late 1958, which many conspiracy theorists seem to think was conspiratorial in some fashion. [The portion of the seminar featuring Zoppi is presented below.]

Other journalists featured at the 1993 conference/seminar include Bob Jackson, Wes Wise, Ike Pappas, and Hugh Aynesworth.

The segment with Ike Pappas is another very good part of the program, as he vividly and energetically recounts the role he played during the unforgettable weekend of President Kennedy's death. Pappas died fairly recently, on August 31, 2008.

Another enlightening and interesting part of this segment of the 1993 "Reporters Remember 11-22-63" conference/seminar is the part where Gary DeLaune of Dallas radio station KLIF talks about how he didn't think it was unusual for Jack Ruby to have simply walked down the Main Street ramp leading into the City Hall basement on 11/24/63 just before Lee Oswald was shot, because DeLaune says that he HIMSELF walked down that very same ramp shortly before Ruby killed Oswald.

Given the sum total of all the witness statements connected with the important subject of "The Main Street Ramp", Gary DeLaune's statement about how he himself walked down that same ramp shortly before Oswald was shot must be taken with a grain of salt, of course. But DeLaune did make such a statement nevertheless.

HERE'S the KLIF-Radio audio from November 24th, 1963, which includes an extremely out-of-breath Gary DeLaune telling the radio audience about what he had just witnessed in the basement of the Dallas Police Department a few minutes earlier. DeLaune sounds as if he is on the verge of collapse in that remarkable clip. He is so out of breath, he can barely speak.

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Nice find. I have referenced that conference several times. It has lots of interesting little details....

....Mary Woodward says she originally reported that the shots came from behind her and to the right. BTW, that was in her original story and then the newspaper took that out in subsequent editions.

....It's fascinating to learn about Zoppi's relationship with organized crime.

Make sure that you listen carefully to [Darwin Payne] explaining the poll they took of the reporters about whether they think it was a conspiracy or a lone nut. He seems confused by the fact that almost everyone checked off lone nut and THEN checked off who was responsible for the conspiracy.

Here is the breakdown he reported:

Did Oswald act alone?: Yes--75, No--6.

Was Oswald involved in a conspiracy?: Yes--9, No--72.

If you believe that there was a conspiracy, who was involved? [TONY MARSH DOESN'T HAVE THE QUESTION WORDED CORRECTLY HERE; SEE MY REPLY BELOW]: Mafia--32; Cuba--14; US intelligence agencies--42; DPD--5.

Darwin Payne was confused by the results of the survey. Just as you are confused. But some of us get it.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Darwin Payne wasn't confused. Apparently the 81 people who responded to that poll were confused though, because the last question (according to Payne) was worded like this:

"IF YOU ANSWERED YES TO #2 [about there being a conspiracy], WHO WAS INVOLVED?"

Therefore, since only NINE people answered "Yes" to there being a conspiracy, there should have been only NINE people answering that last question about "who was involved?". Instead, there were 93 answers. Doesn't make sense at all.

And even taking into account the possibility that all 9 people who voted "Yes" to the #2 question wrote down multiple agencies being involved as co-conspirators, it still doesn't add up at all. Because how can "9" suddenly balloon to "93" for the last question?

Amazingly, per those poll results, only 9 people said "Yes" to the second question about a conspiracy, but 42 of those 9 said they think U.S. intelligence agencies were part of a plot to kill JFK.

~big ol' shrug~

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

So, the results of their [1993] survey were very similar to what I posted as representing what most polls of the American public believe. And as I pointed out, if you ask most journalists and CIA employees, about 99% of them will publicly state that they think that Oswald was a lone nut. .... But if you talked to those same people privately, about half of them would tell you that they suspect that there was a conspiracy and most likely Castro and/or the KGB were behind it. The Journalists Remember Symposium just confirms everything that I said.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

~chuckle~

So, Tony, what you seem to be saying here is that most of the people who said there was no conspiracy in that 1993 SMU poll were actually telling a lie. But then, just SECONDS LATER, when those same people were asked (WITHIN THE VERY SAME POLL!) to write down who they think was involved in a conspiracy to kill President Kennedy, those same people who told the falsehood about there being no conspiracy now have no qualms at all about telling their TRUE thoughts about who was involved.

Is that about the size of the situation, Anthony? That sure seems to be what you have implied above.

I guess those 75 people who voted for "Oswald acting alone" somehow completely forgot that they were supposed to keep up an "LN" facade when they were asked the next "Who was involved?" question, huh?

Were all 75 of them totally senile, in that they told a lie in one or two of the questions, and then turned around and told the pollsters their true inner feelings in the very next question? (Hilarious.)

The confusion regarding the SMU poll can be seen and heard near the end of
this video (at 59:00).

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Many reporters said that when they saw Ruby milling around with them in the basement they just assumed he was a fellow reporter. He forgot to wear his Mafia identification in the band of his fedora.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

And that was during Ruby's approx. 25 to 45 seconds of "milling around" after he got into the basement but before he shot LHO, eh?

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

Hey, watch it you conspiracy monger. You are not supposed to admit things like that. The WC defenders are supposed to claim that he barely got there in time, not milling around for a minute, jockeying his way to the front of the group to get a clear shot.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

LOL. Tony thinks "approx. 25 to 45 seconds" equals NOT getting there "barely in time".

In other words, Anthony Marsh thinks Ruby entered the DPD basement with gobs of room to spare before Oswald appeared.

Tony, you're an absolute howl!

ANTHONY MARSH SAID:

I am ridiculing the construction of some WC defenders who claim that Ruby just barely got there in time. If you are not one of them then you have nothing to complain about.

SANDY McCROSKEY SAID:

You seem to have missed David's point. Less than a minute is "barely in time," by my book.

If I got to a meeting (or caught a train) 25 to 45 seconds before it started, I'd say I just barely made it. Wouldn't you?

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

I hadn't realized until today [February 1, 2010] that a portion of Ike Pappas' coverage of the murder of Oswald was (according to Pappas himself) actually recorded after Ike had departed the DPD basement. The tape was then edited and pieced together at a later time. (It reminds me of the KBOX-Radio re-creation, which is a recording that for decades had me fooled into thinking it was done "live" on 11/22/63.)

FRANCOIS CARLIER SAID:

Could you please elaborate on that? Too little has been said on that subject, in my opinion. I'm not sure I understand well. Could you please explain in detail what exactly was recorded and when and how. And also where was the journalist at the very moment of the action. These questions apply for both cases (Ike Pappas and Ruby, and also the KBOX-Radio recreation). Thanks in advance.

DAVID VON PEIN SAID:

Hi Francois,

As far as Ike Pappas' WNEW-Radio recording of Oswald's murder, I know nothing more than what Pappas himself said in the 1993 SMU conference video, which has Pappas talking about how his "holy mackerel" comment was not uttered until sometime after he had departed the DPD basement. I think Pappas said he was on a stairway somewhere in City Hall when he said "holy mackerel".

Actually, Pappas said the words "holy mackerel" twice on his famous 11/24/63 tape recording. He says it once very shortly after Ruby shot Oswald (or at least I always thought that was done "live" at that time, but apparently, per Mr. Pappas in '93, it was recorded a little while later)....and the recording ends with Pappas saying "holy mackerel" again. Those are the very last words on the 5-minute version of the recording that I currently possess (which can be heard below):

So I'm not sure whether Pappas, in 1993, meant that BOTH of his "holy mackerels" were edited into the earlier part of the recording, or perhaps just the first one. Or: it's possible Ike had forgotten that he said those words TWICE, and not just once.

~shrug~

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT IKE PAPPAS:

Pappas was making fun of himself at the 1993 Dallas journalists conference due to the fact that he shouted "Oswald has been shot!" immediately after Ruby plugged Lee Harvey (or "Lee Harold", according to Bob Huffaker; more on Huffaker later in this post). ~wink~

But, in my opinion, Pappas' "Oswald has been shot!" verbiage was perfect. But Ike seems to think he should have come up with something more eloquent at that moment. I disagree. Pappas said just the right thing. And when you think about it for a minute, what the heck ELSE was Ike supposed to say to convey what had just occurred before his very eyes?

After not getting an answer from Oswald following the question that Pappas yelled at the DPD's famous prisoner ("Do you have anything to say in your defense?", which were probably the last words Oswald ever heard in his life)....should Pappas have said into his tape recorder: "I wonder why Oswald didn't answer me? There's not much else going on here that I can see"???

About the only thing that seems a little bit strange to me when listening to the Ike Pappas recording is when Pappas asks the French reporter (who was also a witness to the shooting), "What happened?"

It seemed kind of odd that Mr. Pappas would need to ask anyone else "what happened?" after Ike himself had just seen Oswald shot right before his very own eyes. Perhaps the event was so incredible, Ike felt he just couldn't BELIEVE his very own eyes at that exact moment.

For what it's worth, I regard Ike Pappas' live coverage of Lee Harvey Oswald's murder as one of the finest off-the-cuff "spot reports" in history. It's right up there with Andrew West's live radio coverage of Robert F. Kennedy's assassination in 1968. You can hear West's amazing recording HERE.

THE KBOX RE-CREATION:

Getting back to KRLD's Bob Huffaker again -- In May of 2006, I had a few e-mail conversations with Bob Huffaker regarding the events in Dallas in November 1963, and the topic of the KBOX-Radio coverage came up.

Bob told me at that time in 2006 that he was pretty certain that virtually all of the famous (and seemingly "live") audio footage from KBOX on 11/22/63 was actually recorded in a studio sometime later that day (or possibly a day or two after the assassination, I can't remember which it was now).

Unfortunately, I no longer have access to those 2006 e-mails, due to a crash of my computer's hard drive on January 31, 2007, which wiped out my e-mail's filing cabinet (much to my dismay).

But I definitely recall Mr. Huffaker telling me that it was his belief that most (or all) of the famous KBOX audio coverage by Sam Pate and Ron Jenkins that we hear today was not put on the air live on November 22, 1963.

Via this website, which contains a lot of information about KBOX's history, it would seem as though KBOX did indeed broadcast some bulletins live from Dealey Plaza and Stemmons Freeway on 11/22/63, although Bob Huffaker seems to think otherwise, according to the things he told me in 2006.

But even that KBOX webpage seems to be a little confused about what was broadcast live and what was recorded in a studio at a later time.
