JOSH CRON SAID:
Surreal Images in Dallas....
Is anyone else watching CNN [at 11:09 PM EDT, July 7, 2016]?
Main Street [in downtown Dallas, Texas] is flooded with police. Active shooter. Scene looks to be about a block from the TSBD.
Two officers confirmed shot. Unconfirmed reports of up to six injured officers. Witnesses reported at least 20 shots.
[...]
Talk floating around that this was potentially the work of a sniper.
One man said, "I thought it was fireworks."
As we look at the TSBD in the background.
Unreal.
24 MINUTES LATER, JOSH CRON SAID:
I feel obligated to update this...
Chief of Police just released a statement saying the shooting was the work of 2 snipers. 11 officers shot. 3 have passed on.
PAT SPEER SAID:
Yes, Josh, it was indeed surreal.
It was interesting to me that the official spokesmen were incredibly open to the likelihood there was more than one sniper, and that no one from Dallas or the media appeared to be trying to fit it into a single shooter scenario. Compare and contrast...
GREG WAGNER SAID:
Surreal indeed. I was thinking the same thing as I watched it unfold on TV last night.
"Snipers (plural) in Dallas" .... not a phrase I ever expected to hear coming from any official source. It's unfortunate that it was not about 11/22/63, but a different kind of tragedy. Just sad and frustrating all around.
DAVID VON PEIN SAID:
Online news stories concerning the mass shootings in Dallas, Texas, on the night of July 7, 2016, which took the lives of five police officers:

RON ECKER SAID:
Shepard Smith just said on FoxNews that the shooting occurred near "where Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated President John F. Kennedy in 1963."
He couldn't say something like "where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963." No, he had to repeat the government lie about who did it.
With everything else going on in this country, that kind of media crap is just piling on.
If FoxNews wasn't so occupied right now with the Dallas shootings, there would be more talking heads on the air, in the wake of Hillary Clinton getting off the hook, demanding "equal justice for all." How about some justice, after 53 years, for John F. Kennedy, you flaming media hypocrites?
DAVID VON PEIN SAID:
Looks like a lone gunman after all....
RON ECKER SAID:
That's right. I think the guy who was caught on video behind a pillar on the sidewalk, firing his big gun and executing one of the cops, was just some kind of crisis actor.
DAVID VON PEIN SAID:
Why in the world would you think something like that, Ron?
Have you been talking to Ralph Cinque again? ----> Click Here.
RON ECKER SAID:
Apparently the man who was on the sidewalk shooting was in front of the parking garage, and must be the same man who was later killed inside the garage.
I've seen no reports as to whether he killed just the one cop while on the sidewalk, or killed others with his random shooting from behind the pillar, or if he killed the others after going into the garage, or what.
DOUGLAS CADDY SAID:
[Quoting from this article by Charles P. Pierce:]
"To those of us who are of a certain age, the psychic signposts of Thursday night in Dallas marked a vaguely remembered route to hell. Snipers in buildings. The wounded being rushed to Parkland Hospital, for pity's sake. And when Don Lemon of CNN made the curious observation that the streets of Dallas seemed an unlikely venue for murderous gunplay, those of us who are of a certain age thought he was out of his mind."
DAVID VON PEIN SAID:
And, less than 24 hours after the tragedy, the conspiracy theories begin....
JOHN CORBETT SAID:
A parade on the west end of downtown Dallas suddenly came under sniper fire from an unknown location. Experienced police officers on the scene believed the shots were coming from multiple directions and that there was a triangulation of gunfire. Sound familiar?
Of course I am not talking about the JFK assassination, but the attack on officers of the DPD [Dallas Police Department] and DART [Dallas Area Rapid Transit] last night [July 7, 2016] which claimed the lives of five of them.
All through the night and into the morning, the narrative was that it was a coordinated attack by multiple gunmen. Now that narrative seems to be in doubt. Police have only been able to confirm that there was one gunman.
Three other suspects are in custody, but we don't know at this time what—if any—their involvement might have been. It is far too early to make informed judgements at this writing as to whether there was in fact more than one gunman.
If it does turn out that this was the act of a single gunman, it will be a perfect example of how gunshots from one location could sound as if they are coming from another location. It would illustrate how unreliable earwitness accounts can be in determining the direction of gunfire.
DAVID VON PEIN SAID:
More irony (re: parade routes) ----> Click Here.
JOHN McADAMS SAID:
Excellent.
The claim being that only a few people with "inside knowledge" knew the parade route. Maybe, [Michael] Savage opines [in this audio clip posted above by DVP], the Black Lives Matter people led the cops into the kill zone.
He didn't use that term, but the concept is quite familiar to JFK buffs.
DAVID VON PEIN SAID:
Indeed, John.
BTW, I recorded that audio clip from KLIF-Radio in Dallas after logging in to the live KLIF stream on their website (just as a lark and out of curiosity to find out what the Dallas area radio stations were saying about the police shootings the day after it happened)....and I immediately, after recording just a few seconds of the live stream, was able to record someone spouting off a ridiculous and wholly unsupportable conspiracy theory about how somebody at Dallas City Hall possibly was part of some plot regarding the parade route.
It was almost as if somebody in the KLIF control booth said -- "Hey guys! DVP is ready to record the show now! So now's the time to bring the conspiracy crap out of the closet!" And they did. I could hardly believe the timing of it. As if they were doing it to prove my point about CTers. Incredible.
And, naturally, I quickly thought of the parallel to the JFK case, in which some conspiracists are married to the absurd (and provably false) idea that the evil hand of conspirators played a major part in setting up and framing Lee Harvey Oswald by pre-arranging President Kennedy's motorcade route through Dallas, so that the President's car would drive slowly past the Book Depository Building.
So the past mirrors the present — yet again.
JIMMY ORR SAID:
It is remarkable. This is a great post, my friend!
DAVID VON PEIN SAID:
And just imagine how much more make-believe conspiracy-related B.S. I could have recorded if I had kept the recorder turned on for more than just three minutes. LOL.
ANTHONY MARSH SAID:
All that talk about triangulation of gunfire was confusion about the shooter moving around and using 2 guns. Just as the Texas Tower shooter did.
DAVID VON PEIN SAID:
Yes, good point. I had thought the same thing with respect to the potential "multiple shooters" angle. The gunman who killed the five policemen was firing his weapons over a period of many minutes, not just 8.4 seconds as was the case with Lee Oswald in 1963.
So that gave the Dallas gunman on July 7, 2016, ample time to move around and re-position himself to fire again from a different location, which might very well have fooled some witnesses into thinking there was more than one person doing the shooting.
And I, too, like Tony, also was thinking about the Texas Tower massacre in this regard.*
* Oh my! Twice in one day I've been on the same wavelength as Anthony Marsh? Should that make me smile? Or should it make me worry a little bit? I'm not sure. ~grin~
